3 B EFORE Y OU B EGIN Congratulations for selecting the new REEBOK ® CYC12 exercise cycle. Cycling is one of the most effective exercises for increasing cardiovascular fit- ness, building endurance, and toning the entire body .
4 Assembly requires two persons. Place all parts of the exercise cycle in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Assembly requires the included tools and your own adjustable wrench .
5 2 75 75 1 72 45 1. Identify the Front Stabilizer (2), which has Wheels (75) near its ends. Attach the Front Stabilizer to the front of the Frame (1) with two M10 x 75mm Carriage Bolts (72) and two M10 Nylon Locknuts (45). Make sure that the Front Stabilizer is turned so the Wheels are not touching the floor .
6 5. Attach the Seat (12) to the Seat Carriage (1 1) with four M6 x 16mm Hex Screws (29) and four M8 Flat W ashers (18). 6. Attach a Seat Handle (14) to the Seat Carriage (1 1) with two M8 x 19mm Button Bolts (43) and two M8 Nylon Locknuts (56). Attach the other Seat Handle (14) to the Seat Carriage (1 1) in the same way .
9. Firmly tighten the four M8 x 31mm Button Screws (80) in the Seat Carriage (1 1). Pull the seat knob and slide the Seat Carriage (1 1) to the desired position. Release the seat knob and slide the Seat Carriage back and forth slightly until it locks into position.
8 HOW TO ADJUST THE POSITION OF THE SEA T For effective exercise, the seat should be in the proper position. As you pedal, there should be a slight bend in your knees when the pedals are in the farthest position. T o adjust the seat, pull the seat knob and slide the seat carriage to the desired position.
HOW TO USE THE MANUAL PROGRAM Begin pedaling to activate the console. The exercise cycle requires no batteries or external power source. Instead, power is sup- plied by a generator as you pedal. T o activate the console, begin pedaling. After a few seconds, the entire display will appear for a moment.
10 Measure your heart rate, if desired. Note: If the metal contacts on the pulse sensor are covered with thin sheets of plastic, remove the plastic. T o use the pulse sensor , place your hands on the metal contacts. Y our palms must be touching the contacts closest to you and your fingers must be touching the opposite contacts.
11 Inspect and tighten all parts of the exercise cycle reg- ularly . The exercise cycle can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. T o prevent damage to the console, keep liquids away from the console and keep the console out of direct sunlight. Inspect and prop- erly tighten all parts of the exer- cise cycle regular- ly .
12 Exercise has proven essential for good health and well-being. Regular participation in a well-rounded exercise program results in a stronger and more effi- cient heart, improved respiratory function, increased stamina, better weight management, increased ability to deal with stress, and greater self-esteem.
13 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. T oe T ouch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
