Owner’s Manual: Heart Rate Features 9 Exercise to Y our T arget Heart Rate The 9.21 treadmil l includes a program that lets you exercise based on a specified heart rate. Y ou set your target heart r ate (TH R) and the speed of the running belt after selecting the program.

If you are a beginner or returning to regular exercise, you can start a cardio-conditioning program to slowly return your body to a comfortable level of exercise.
Owner’s Manual: Programs 20 P r ogram Tips • W ork out indefini tely in any program (except W eight Loss). At the TI M E prompt, specify 0:00. W hile you exercise, TI M E indicates the amount of time you have been exercising. If you ch oose to exercise without a time limit, the aut omatic 5-minut e cool-down period is eliminated.
Owner’s Manual: Programs 21 W eight Loss (WLS) P rogra m W ith the W eight Loss Program, the workout time is fi xed at 28 minutes and consists of seven, 4-minute intervals. Y ou are not prompted for a workout time. For i deal weight loss range, your heart rate should be between 55% and 7 0% of your maximum aerobic heart rate.

Owner’s Manual: Maintenance 31 Periodic ally, cl ean the running belt using a soft nylon scrub brush. Frequently vacuum t he floor underneath the unit to prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt, which can affect the smooth operation of the unit.
Owner’s Manual: Maintenance 32 5. W alk around to th e rear of the unit and observe the bel t for a few minutes. T he belt should be centere d on the platform. If the belt drifts off center , you must make adjustments. Important: If the belt needs alignment, make the adjustments at once.
