4 2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug the power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the lo- cation of the power switch.

6 ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispos e of the pa ckin g mate rial s unti l asse mbly i s comp lete d.
7 3. Identify the Left Upright (88), which is marked with a “Left” sticker. Have a second person hold the Left Upright near the Base (91). Se e th e in se t dr aw in g. Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright (88) securely around the Upright Wire (77) about 8 in.
8 5. Identify the Left and Right Base Covers (83, 84). Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright (88). Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright (89). Do not press the Base Covers into place yet. Remove the wire tie from the Upright Wire (77).
9 6. Set the console assembly (A) face-down on a soft surface to avoid scratching the console. With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Left Upright (88).
10 8. Set the console assembly on the brackets on the Left and Right Uprights (88, not shown). Be careful not to pinch any wires. Attach the console assembly with four 5/16" x 1 1/4" Patch Bolts (4) and four 5/16" Star W ashers (11) (only one side is shown).
1 1 11. With the help of a second person, hold the Left and Right Handrails (81, 82) near the Base (91). Slide the lower ends of the Handrails into the holes on the top of the Right and Left Base Covers (84, not shown). 11 82 81 91 84 10. With the help of a second person, hold the Pulse Bar Top (86) near the Pulse Bar Bottom (87).

13 14. Firmly tighten the two 5/16" x 1 1/2" Patch Bolts (15). Then, firmly tighten the sixteen Patch Bolts (5, 7 , 8, 14) (only one side is shown). Press the Right and Left Base Covers (84, not shown) onto the Base (91) until they snap into p lace.
14 18. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of plastic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic. To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill. Note: Extra hardware may be included.
15 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.
16 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
17 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
18 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the I ncline increase or decrease button or one of the numbered Quick Incline buttons. Each time you p ress one of the buttons, the treadmill will gradu- ally adjust to the selected incline setting.
19 6. Measure your heart rate if desired. Before using the handgrip pulse sensor, remove t he sheets of plastic from the metal contacts on the pulse bar. In addition, make sure that your hands a re clean. To measure your heart rate, stand on the foot rails and hold the pulse bar with your palms on the metal con- tacts; avoid moving your hands.
20 HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the ke y into the consol e. See HOW T O TURN ON TH E POWER on p age 17. 2. Select an onboard workout. To select an onboard workout, press the Calorie button, the Timed button, the Speed button, or the Incline button repeatedly until the desired workout appears in the display.
21 To stop the workout at any time, press the Stop button. The time will begin to flash in the display. To resume the workout, press the Start button or t he Speed increase button.
22 Press the iFit Live button to download the next workout in your schedule. Press the My Trainer button, the My Maps button, the World Tour button, o r the Event Training button to download the next workout of that type in your schedule. Press the C ompete button to compete in a race that you have previously scheduled.
23 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of treadmill information and allows you to person- alize console settings. To select the information mode, hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console and then release the Stop button.
24 HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM To play music or audio books through the consoleʼs s tereo speakers, you must connect your MP3 player, CD player, or other personal audio player to the con- s ole through the audio jack. To use the audio jack, locate the included audio wire and plug it into the audio jack on the side of the con- sole.

27 Locate the Reed Switch (55) and the Magnet (54) on the left side of the Pulley (53). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
28 SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on a . If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
