1. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure t hat all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions. 2. Use the treadmill only as described. 3. Place the treadmill on a level surface, with at least eight feet of clearance behind it and two feet on each side.
21. Do not change the incline of the treadmill by p lacing objects under the treadmill. 22. When folding or moving the treadmill, make sure that the frame is held securely by the pin o n the latch knob. 23. Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the t readmill regularly.

ASSEMBL Y A ssembly requires two persons. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. D o not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
8 4. Remove the band securing the Upr ight Wir e Har ness (73 ) to the right Upright (85). Have a second person hold the console assembly near the right Upright. Connect the Upright Wire Harness (73) to the wire harness extending from the console assembly.
9 6. Attach the console assembly to the Uprights (85) with four Console Bolts (72) and four 3/8” Star Washers (71) (only one side is shown). Start all four Console Bolts before tightening any of them. 71 72 85 Console Assembly 6 7. Note the location of the 75 ohm antenna terminal on the treadmill.
10 HOW TO CONNECT AN ANTENNA Indoor Antenna 1. Place a VHF antenna in the desired loca- tion. Connect the 300 ohm fl at wire from the antenna to a 300 ohm to 75 ohm adapter. 2. Push the 300 ohm to 75 ohm adapter onto the 75 ohm an- tenna terminal on the treadmill frame near the power cord.
1 1 H OW TO PUT ON THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR T he chest pulse sensor consists of two components: the chest strap and the sensor unit (see the drawing below ). Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor unit, as shown in the inset drawing.
12 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking b elt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
13 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When the manual mode of the con- sole is selected, the speed and i ncline o f the t readmill can be changed with the touch of a button.
14 H OW TO TURN ON THE POWER Plug in the power cord (see page 12). Next, l ocate the reset/off cir- cuit breaker on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Make sure that the circuit breaker is in the reset position. Stand on the foot rails of the tread- mill.
15 Follow your progress with the displays and the Workout Intensity bar. When the manual m ode is selected, the matrix will show a track that represents 1/4 mile (400 meters). As you w alk or run on the treadmill, the indicators around the track will appear in succession until the entire track appears.
16 T urn on the fan if desired. To turn on the fan at low speed, press the Fan button. To turn on the fan at medium speed, press the button a second time. To turn on the fan at h igh speed, press the button a third time. To turn off the fan, press the Fan button again.
17 The speed setting for t he first segme nt will be shown in the flashing C urrent Segment col- umn of the matrix. (The incline settings are not shown in the matrix.) T he speed settings for t he next several seg- ments will be shown in the columns to the right.
18 HOW TO USE A DISTANCE PROGRAM Insert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. Select a Distance program. To select a Distance program, press the Distance Programs (DISTANCE PGMS) button repeatedly until 2K, 5K, 7K, or 10K appears in the matrix.
19 H OW TO CREATE A CUSTOM PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. Select a Custom program. To select a Custom program, press the Custom Programs (CUSTOM PGMS) button once or twice. If the Custom program has not yet been de - fined, the display will show a program time of three minutes.
20 H OW TO USE A CUSTOM PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. Select a Custom program. To select a Custom program, press the Custom Programs (CUSTOM PGMS) button once or twice.
21 H OW TO USE A PULSE PROGRAM Follow the steps below to use a Pulse program. Note: You must wear the chest pulse sensor to use a Pulse program. While using the chest pulse sensor, do not use the handgrip pulse sensor. Put on the chest pulse sensor. See HOW TO PUT ON THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR on page 11.
22 If your pulse is not detected during the program, the letters “PLS” will flash in the display and the s peed of the treadmill may automatically decrease. If t his occ urs, see CHEST PULSE SEN- S OR TROUBLESHOOTING on page 11. To stop the program at any time, press the Stop but ton .
23 H OW TO OPERATE THE PERSONAL TELEVISION IMPORTANT: Before operating the television, you must connect an antenna, a 75 ohm CATV cable, or a VCR to the 75 ohm antenna terminal on the tread- m ill. See page 10 for instructions. Follow the steps below to operate the television.
24 H OW TO USE THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that allows you to view treadmill usage information, select a sys- t em of measurement for the console, and turn on and t urn off the demo mode.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be- c ome permanently damaged. Remove the key and unplug the power cord.
26 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
27 Locate the Reed Switch (22) and the Magnet (18) on the left side of the Pulley (17). Turn the Pulley until the M agnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. M ake sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed S witch is about 1/8”. I f necessary, move the Reed Switch slightly using a slotted screwdriver.
28 PROBLEM: The incline of the treadmill does not change correctly S OLUTION: a . With the key in the console, press one of the Incline buttons. W hile the incline is changing, re- move the key. After a few seconds, re-insert the key. The treadmill will automatically rise to the m aximum incline level and then return to the minimum level.
29 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
