7 ASSEMBL Y 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Place a piece of cardboard under the rear of the Frame (57) to protect the floor or carpet. Attach the Left Wheel Cap (92) to the Base (91) with two #8 x 3/4" Screws (2). Attach the Right Wheel Cap (not shown) to the Base (91) in the same way.

9 6. Set the console assembly face-down on a soft surface to avoid scratching the console. Att ach t he Le ft an d Rig ht Tr ays ( 104 , 105 ) to the con sol e ass emb ly wi th si x #8 x 1/ 2" Screws (1). 6 1 1 104 105 Console Assembly 5 . Identify the Left and Right Base Covers (83, 84).
10 8. Set the console assembly on the brackets on the Left and Right Uprights (88, not shown). Be careful not to pinch any wires. Attach the console assembly with four 5/16" x 1 1/4" Patch Screws (4) and four 5/16" Star Washers (11) (only one side is shown).
1 1 10. With the help of a second person, hold the Pulse Bar Top (86) near the Pulse Bar Bottom (87). Insert the pulse wire from the Pulse Bar Top into the hole in the top of the Pulse Bar Bottom and pull it out of the hole in the Pulse Bar Bottom.
12 12. With the help of a second person, hold the handrail assembly near the Left and Right Uprights (88, 89) and connect the two pulse wires. Carefully set the handrail assembly on the console assembly.
13 14. Firmly tighten the two 5/16" x 1 1/2" Patch Bolts (15). Then, firmly tighten the sixteen Patch Bolts (5, 7, 8, 14) (only one side is shown). Press the Right and Left Base Covers (84, not shown) onto the Base (91) until they snap into place.
14 15. IMPOR TANT: S ee page 17 and pl ug in the power cord. Next, see page 19 and turn on the power. T hen, press the Incline increase button once. When the frame stops moving, remove the k ey from the console and unplug the power cord. 15 IMPORTANT: Make sure to follow all instructions in this step.

16 HOW TO PUT ON THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR The chest pulse sensor consists of two components: the chest strap and the sensor unit. Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of t he sensor unit, as shown in the inset drawing. Press the end of the sensor unit under the buckle on the chest strap.
17 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.
18 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
19 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
20 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the I ncline increase or decrease button or one of the numbered Quick Incline buttons. Each time you p ress one of the buttons, the treadmill will gradu- ally adjust to the selected incline setting.
21 6. Measure your heart rate if desired. Note: If you use the handgrip pulse sensor and t he chest pulse sensor at the same time, the console will not display your heart rate accu- r ately. For information about the chest pulse sen- sor, see page 16.
22 HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the ke y into the consol e. See HOW T O TURN ON TH E POWER on p age 19. 2. Select an onboard workout. To select an onboard workout, press the Calorie button, the Intensity button, the Speed button, or the Incline button repeatedly until the desired work- out appears in the display.
23 To stop the workout at any time, press the Stop button. The time will begin to flash in the display. To resume the workout, press the Start button or t he Speed increase button.
24 Press the iFit Live button to download the next workout in your schedule. Press the My Trainer button, the My Maps button, the World Tour button, o r the Event Training button to download the next workout of that type in your schedule. Press the C ompete button to compete in a race that you have previously scheduled.
25 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of treadmill information and allows you to person- alize console settings. To select the information mode, hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console and then release the Stop button.
26 HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM To play music or audio books through the consoleʼs s tereo speakers, you must connect your MP3 player, CD player, or other personal audio player to the con- s ole through the audio jack. To use the audio jack, locate the included audio wire and plug it into the audio jack on the side of the con- sole.

29 Locate the Reed Switch (55) and the Magnet (54) on the left side of the Pulley (53). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
30 SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on a . If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.

32 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
