8 2 2 Overview 2 Before using your Brother printe r in a network environm ent, you must configure the TCP/IP se ttings. In this chapter, you will learn the basic steps required to prin t over the network using the TCP/IP pro tocol. We recommend that you use the Brother installer appl ication on the CD-ROM we have pro vided with the printer.

15 3 3 Overview 3 To connect your printer to your wireless network, you need to follow the steps in the Quick Setup Guide or the Network User’s Guide. We recommend that you use th e Brother installer application on the CD-ROM which we have provided with the printer.

Th ere are up to 14 different channels that can be used when using a wire less network. However, in many countries the number of channels available are restricted .

80 7 7 Overview 7 If your wireless access point su pports Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (PIN Method), you can configure the machine easily without a computer. The PIN (Pe rsonal Identi fication Number) Method is one of the connection methods developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance.

Note • You must configure the IP address on your printer before you proceed with this chapter .
