13 4. Removing the Packing Ma terials and Atta ching the Feed Roller Remove all of the p acking mate rials prot ecting the d evice, an d attach th e feed rolle r. 1. Remove the oran ge tape (3 pieces) securing the outer ca se. 2. Gently open the document ej ect tray.
14 5. Open the ro ller cover fo r the feed ro ller. 6. Lift up t he roller l ock lever a , and sli de i t in th e directi on of the a rrow b . 7. Align th e notch in th e shaft o f the rolle r with the shaf t of th e device , and place t he feed roller int o positio n.
15 11. Gently close th e panel u nit. Press on both s ides of the unit until you hea r a click , whic h indica tes the u nit is lock ed. 12. Gently close th e document eject tray .

Connecting the AC Adaptor and Connecting to a Network Before setti ng up the device , you need to co nnect the AC ad aptor and net work cable. ❏ Connecting t he AC Adapter Follow the proced ure shown below to co nnect the AC ad apter. CAUTION Make sure to use on ly the AC adapter and power cord included with the device.
17 6. Turning the Power ON and OFF Use the power swi tch to turn the dev ice ON and OFF. ❏ Turning the Power ON Press the power switch to turn the d evice ON.
18 7. Establishing the Connecti on between the Device a nd S hareScan Services Manager In order to use the device, y ou must first instal l ShareScan S ervices Manag er on a comput er that is conn ected to the sam e netwo rk as th e devi ce.
19 3. Click [In stall Sha reScan]. 4. Select a language and clic k [OK]. 5. Follow the inst ructions o n the sc reen to com plete inst allation. If a message requesting that you restart the co mputer appears after installat ion is complete , follow the instructions to restart the compu ter.
20 4. Doubl e-click the comp uter under t he tree to expand it, and c lick [Lice nsing] u nder [System Informatio n]. The [Licensin g] screen appears in th e right pane. 5. Click [Ne w Key]. The [Add a New Produ ct Key] dialo g box ap pears. 6. Enter t he product ke y, and click [OK ].
21 2. Set the ad ministra tor password. Enter the passwo rd in the [Password] box, and reenter it in the [Confirm Password] box to confirm. After entering the password, press [Next].
22 Primary DNS / Secondary DNS Enter the DNS addre ss of the network to whic h the device will be connected . The [Secondary DNS] setting is opti onal.
23 9. Click [Activate Now]. The [Product Ke y Information ] dialog b ox closes, a nd the prod uct key that yo u entere d is activated via the Interne t. When activat ion is com plete, the d evice is regi stered under [Devices] in the de vice tree. This comple tes device registration.
24 8. Configuring ShareSca n Services Manager After connect ion between the ScanFro nt and eCopy Sh areScan Services M anager is est ablished, yo u can confi gure the vario us setti ngs of eCo py Shar eScan an d QuickCon nect to suit you r requirem ents.
25 9. Documents The ScanF ront can scan do cuments in a ran ge of sizes from busi ness cards to LTR /A4. It is possi ble to feed do cuments of th e following sizes and th icknesses depend ing on the feeding met hod used. ❏ Plain Paper Size Width: 2" to 8 1/ 2" (50.

Prep aring the Dev ice When plac ing a docum ent in the de vice, pull ou t the docume nt feed tray so that it match es the size of the do cument, and then mo ve the feed selectio n lever to the approp riate position for the desi red feed me thod (page separation feeding o r bypass feeding) fo r t he docum ent.

29 ❏ Using a PS/2 Keyboard and PS/ 2 Mouse You can conn ect a PS/2 keyb oard and mou se to the PS/2 port and use th em to operate the device. IMPORTANT Turn OFF the device befo re connectin g or disconn ecting the PS/2 mo use and keyboard.

Placing Documents When placi ng document s into the devic e, place them face down i nto the tray with the to p edge of the docume nt at the botto m of t ray. ❏ Placing a Document Follow the pro cedure bel ow to place a do cument. 1. Adjust t he docum ent guide s to be wide r than the width of the doc ument.
31 IMPORTANT Up to 50 sheets of ordinary paper can be loade d into the document feed tr ay. When p lacing th e document, make sure th e size of stack does not ex ceed the loading mark s on the document guides. ❏ Placing a Cards (Busi ness Card, Plast ic Card) When you want to sc an a ca rd, follow the proced ure belo w to place the card .
32 12. Clearing a Paper Jam or Double Feed Er ror If a paper jam or double feed error occurs, feeding and scanni ng operati ons are paused , and an error screen simi lar to the following ap pears. When this occ urs, clear the pape r jam (or document that stopp ed mid-fe ed) and pe rform one of the follo wing proce dures.
33 CAUTION The open/c lose movement of the panel unit is linked to the up / down moveme nt of the d ocument e ject tray . Do not p ress on the document eject t ray when y ou open the pa nel unit. 3. Pull out the jamm ed docum ent in the direction that seems the easie st to remo ve it.
34 13. Fingerprint Sensor (ScanFront 220eP) The Sca nFront 22 0eP i s equipp ed with a fing erprint sensor for registe ring f ingerpr ints and authen ticati ng users. The fingerpr int sensor is a pr ecision compon ent. Be careful when handling this sensor.

Align the first j oint of a finger on the s ensor a nd press the finger on the fingerp rint sens or. 2. Keep th e finger pre ssed whil e slowly sliding it straig ht at a co nstant sp eed to sc an the finger print.
36 14. Basic Scanni ng Procedure This sec tion de scribes th e basic pr ocedure fo r scanning docume nts using t he device . Based on the type of connec tor ins talled on the Se rvices M anager PC, yo u can s end scan ned da ta to othe r com puters and dev ices on a netwo rk.
37 5. Press [Next]. The filename en try screen appears. 6. Enter a fil ename. You can enter th e filename for the sca nned data by pressi ng to displ ay the on-scr een keyb oard. When an actual keyboar d is connec ted to t he device , you ca n use that keyb oard for te xt entry.
