6 The Handset of your VT 9122 is powered by a rechargeab le batter y pack. It charges automati- cally whenev er the Handset is in the Base Unit. The batter y pack needs charging when: • The low battery icon is displayed: • A beep will be generated e very 7 seconds in T ALK mode only .
7 LANGU A GE SELECTION 1. Press PR OG /CHAN, displa y shows “ SET LANGU AGE? ” and the current setting (ENGLISH / FRANCAIS / ESP ANOL) is display ed. 2. Press or to cycle through the different language settings . 3. Press SELECT to confirm your choice .
8 The W all Mount bracket is designed f or use on standard Wall Mount plates only . 1. Line up the tabs on the wall mount adaptor with the holes on the bottom of the Base Unit. Snap the wall mount bra cket firmly in place. 2. Plug the AC adaptor into an electrical outlet, and the DC connector to the back of the Base Unit.

10 MAKING CALLS Method 1------Live Dialing Press PHONE . Dial the phone number . Press OFF to end your call. Method 2------Pre-dialing There are 24 digit. Dial the phone number , up to 24 digits. Use the DELETE ke y to backspace if you mak e a dialing mistake.
11 USING REDIAL 1. Press PHONE . Listen f or dial tone. 2. Press REDIAL/ P AUSE. The last number you called will automati- cally be redialed. OR 1. Press REDIAL so that the number is sho wn on the display . 2. Press PHONE It can also be used to store the last number dialed into the phone book.
12 CALLER ID/CALL W AITING ID NO TE : Caller ID and Call Waiting ID are subscription ser vices, pro vided by your regional phone company . Y ou must subscribe to these ser vices in order to benefit from the Caller ID features of y our VT 9122 . Contact your regional phone service provider for details.
13 DIALING FROM CALLER ID 1. Press or /CID until y ou find the desired record 2. Press SELECT to cycle through 3 different dialing strings: 7 digits f or example: 624-5688 10 digits f or example: 800-624-5688 11 digits f or example: 1-800-624-5688 3 .
14 AD V ANCED OPERA TION REVIEWING AND DIALING FROM THE PHONE BOOK PHONE BOOK DIALING 1 . With the Handset in the idle mode, press MEM/NEW and then the memory location number (0...9). If you don’t remember the location number , press or to scroll through all Phone Book entries.
15 Y our VT 9122 is capable of detecting a Visual Message Waiting signal, generated b y many phone ser vice providers . If you subscribe to V oiceMail ser vice from your local telephone company , and a Visual Message W aiting signal is provided, the Base Unit MESSAGE light will glow to alert you to new , unplayed messages .
16 AD V ANCED OPERA TION Y our VT 9122 cordless telephone is equipped with a 2.5mm Headset Ja ck for use with an optional accessory Headset for hands-free operation. If you choose to use the Headset option, you m ust do the following: INST ALLA TION * Obtain an optional accessory Head set, which is compatible with the VT 9122 .

19 THE HANDSET DOES NO T RING WHEN Y OU RECEIVE A CALL. • Ensure that the ringer is turned on. • Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged fir mly into the base unit and the telephone jac k. Make sure the po wer cord is plugged in. • Y ou may be too f ar from the base unit.
