If a properly grounded outlet is not available, a temporar y adapter (like the adapter shown in Figure1B) may be used to connect this plug to a two-pole receptacle. The temporar y adapter should be used ONL Y until a properly grounded outlet can be installed by a qualified electrician.
5. For negative-grounded vehicle, connect POSITIVE (RED) clamp from batter y charger to POSITIVE (POS, P , +) ungrounded post of batter y . Connect NEGA TIVE (BLACK) clamp to vehicle chassis or engine block away from batter y . Do not connect clip to carburetor , fuel lines, or sheet-metal body parts.
