06656 17 CTS Like XON/XO FF protocol, CTS protocol is a mechanism used to con- trol da ta flow out. The CTS input is used to inform the scanner that the host terminal is r eady to accept scann ed data. When CTS (+) pr o- tocol is selected , the scanner waits for a lo w level on its CTS input befor e transmitting data.
18 User ’ s / Programmi ng Guide Anoth er flo w contr ol o ption is av ailabl e. If e nabled, the st op/go pr o- tocol disables the trigger after every successful scan. The trigger is then re-en abled with a serial ‘ BG ’ comman d in format <STX ><ESC >BG< ETX> .
06656 19 Label Buffering The user may select one of three levels of serial buf fering. W it h Full Buffering (the default) selected, the scanner will place all scanned labels into a buffer for transmissi on. This allo ws the operator to con- tinue scanning even though the pr evious label may not have been transmitted yet.
20 User ’ s / Programmi ng Guide Menu Comma nds Para meter Messages In serial mode, most men u commands when sca nned will provide a confirmation message to the host along with the ACK.
06656 21 HF Extern al T r igger(-) General P arameters Inter character Dela y Certain terminals a nd computers require an intercharacter delay to simulate the ef fects of keystroke delays . Choosing an intercharacter delay causes th e characters to be sent a t the slower sp eed require d by the device to which you are interfacing.
22 User ’ s / Programmi ng Guide T ransmission Mode Full Duplex or Half Duplex T ra nsmission m ode selects either full or half duplex o peration regard- less of interface. In the half duplex mod e, the decoded message is sent simultaneous ly to the display and to the host computer .
