BEFORE T AKING A MEASUREMENT 5 T o ensure a reliable reading follow these recommendations: 1. A void eating, smoking, and e x ercising for 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Rest for at least 15 minutes before taking the measurement. 2. Stress raises blood pressure.

Install 4 “ AA” size batteries so the + (positi v e) and - (neg ati ve) polarities match the polarities of the battery compartment as indicated.

9 L O ADING THE PRINTER P APER This printer uses OMR ON ® thermal paper , part number 90TRP . Use only this thermal paper or thermal paper of similar size, width 38mm, roll diameter not to e xceed 26mm. NO TE: For information on where to purchase printer paper visit our website at www .
SET TING THE D A TE AND TIME 10 The Blood Pressure Monitor automatically stores up to 28 measurement v alues with the date and time. Set the monitor to the current date and time before taking a measurement for the f irst time. If the current date and time is not set, a default date and time will display .
TITLE SET TING THE D A TE AND TIME 11 3. SETTING THE MONTH Press the ADJUST b utton to adv ance by increments of one month. Press the SET b utton to set the current month. The day flashes on the display . 4. SETTING THE D A Y Press the ADJUST b utton to adv ance by increments of one day .
TITLE 12 TITLE TITLE APPL Y ING THE ARM CUFF 1. Make sure the air plug is securely inserted in the main unit. 2. Remo ve tight-f itting clothing from your upper arm. 3. Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor . Place your arm on a table so the cuf f is le v el with your heart.
5. Pull the cuf f so the top and bottom edges are tightened e v enly around your arm. 6. When the cuf f is positioned correctly , press the se wn hook material FIRML Y against the pile side of the cuf f. 7. Make certain the cuf f fits snugly around your arm.
TITLE 14 TITLE TITLE T AKING A MEASUREMENT The monitor automatically determines your ideal inflation le v el. In rare circumstances when a higher inflation may be necessary , the monitor automatically re-inflates the cuf f up to 30mmHg higher than the initial inflation and restarts the measurement.
15 TITLE TITLE TITLE T AKING A MEASUREMENT ST ART 4. When the measurement is complete, the arm cuf f completely deflates. Y our blood pressure and pulse rate are displayed. 5. Pr ess the ON/OFF button to turn the monitor of f. NO TE: The monitor will automatically turn of f after f i ve minutes.
Every time you complete a measurement the monitor store s t h e b l o o d pressure and pulse rate in the memory . The Blood Pressure Monitor automatically stores up to 28 measurement v alues. When 28 sets of measurement v alues are stored in the memory , the oldest record is deleted to sa ve the most recent measurement v alues.
17 TITLE TITLE USING THE PRINTER The HEM-705CP printer unit has the capability to print all the of measurement v alues stored in the memory of the Blood Pressure Monitor . NO TES: • The correct date and time must be set up on the monitor before taking a reading.
TITLE 18 TITLE USING THE PRINTER 2. T O PRINT ALL THE MEASUREMENT V ALUES Pr ess the ALL D A T A button. The numeric printout will list all of the readings stored in the memory starting with the oldest reading to the most recent reading follo wed by the a verage of all the stored readings.
