Understandi ng the MFP control pa nel 10 Learning about the MFP 5 Dial Pause Press to cause a two- or three-second dial pause in a fax number . The button only functions within the F ax menu or with f ax functions. Press from the home screen to redial a fax n umber .

E-mail 30 3 E-mail The MFP can be used to e-mail scanned documents to one or more recipients. There are four w a ys to send an e-mail from the MFP . Y ou can typ e the e-mail address, use a shor tcut number , use the address book, or a profile.
Using the address book 31 E-mail 3 Press #, and then enter the recipient's shor tcut number . Y ou can enter addition al recipients by pressing ne xt and then enter ing the recipient's sh or tcut number or address.

E-mail server setup 35 E-mail E-mail server setup F or e-mail to operate, it m ust be tur ned on in the MFP configur ation and have a v alid IP address or gatew a y address.
Fa x i n g 36 4 Fa x i n g The fax function lets y ou scan items and fax them to one or mo re recipients directly from the MFP . When yo u touch F a x, it opens the fax destination screen. Y ou enter the fax number and touch Fax It to send your f ax. Y ou can also chan ge the fax settings to fit your personal need s.
Using f ax destination sh or tcuts 37 Faxing Using fax destination shor tcuts F ax destination shor tcuts are just like the speed dial numb ers on a telephone or fax machine . Y ou can assign shor tcut numbers when creating per manent f ax destinations.

Creating shor tcuts 43 FTP Creating shor tcuts Instead of enter ing the entire FTP site address on the contro l panel each ti me you want to send a document to an FTP , you can create a per manent FTP destination and a ssign a shor tcut number . There a re two methods for creating shor tcut numbers: from a computer or from the MFP touch screen.
FTP options 44 FTP Binding: T ells the MFP whether the or iginal document is bound on the long-edg e or shor t-edge side. Base File Name: Lets you enter a file name. The default v alue is the word image . A timestamp is added to the file name to prev ent overwriting files of the same name at the FTP site.
