Use To Streamline work processes by letting you qui ckly find and pri nt frequently used online forms directly from the printer home screen. Note: The printer must have permission to access the network folder, FTP site, or Web site where the bookmark is stored.

4 Remove the metal cover from the ISP o pening. a Loosen the screw. b Lift the m etal co ver, and th en pul l it out c ompletel y. 1 2 3 Additi onal pr inter set up 38.
5 Align th e post s of t he plasti c bracket to the h oles o n the cont roller board cage, a nd then pr ess th e plast ic bracket on the c ontrol ler board c age unt il it clicks into place. Note: M ake sure tha t the pl astic brac ket has latched c ompletely, an d that th e plastic bracket i s seated firml y on the cag e.
7 Lower the I SP tow ard the p lastic b racke t unt il the ISP is seated b etween th e guides of the p lastic b racke t. 8 Use the pr ovided t humbs crew fo r the I SP to at tach the plas tic bra cket to the IS P. Note: Turn the screw clockwise, enough to hold th e ISP in place, b ut do no t tight en it yet.
9 Atta ch the two provi ded scr ews to secure the ISP mounting bracket to th e contro ller b oard sh ield. 10 Tigh ten the thu mbscre w that is att ached to the I SP.

3 Locate t he appropri ate connec tor on th e controll er board ca ge. Note: If an op tional ISP is currentl y inst alle d, then t h e print er hard dis k must b e ins talled onto the I SP.
To inst all a printer hard di sk onto the ISP : a Remov e the scr ews at tached to the printe r hard disk m ounting bracket, and th en re move t he brack et. b Align the standof fs of t he printer hard d isk to the hol es in the ISP, and t hen pre ss the prin ter h ard disk d own until the standoffs are in place.
To inst all a prin ter hard di sk direct ly on the co ntroller boa rd cage: a Align the standoffs of the printe r hard disk to the holes in the co ntrolle r board c age, and then pre ss the print er hard disk down until the standoff s are in place. Instal lation war ning: Hold only the edges of the p rinted circ uit boar d assemb ly.

2 1 2 Unpack the opt ional tray, and the n remov e all pac king mat erial. 3 Pull out the tray c omplet ely fr om the base. 4 Remove any p acking material from in side th e tray. 5 Insert th e tra y into th e bas e. 6 Pla ce the tr ay near the pr inter.
8 Align th e printe r with the tray, a nd then slo wly lower t he printe r into pla ce. Note: O ption al trays l ock to gether wh en sta cked. 9 Connect the p ower c ord to the pr inter , then to a p roperl y grounded electrical outlet, and th en turn on the print er.

Paper and specialty media guide Notes: • Make su re the p aper siz e, type, an d weight ar e set co rrectly on the computer or print er con trol pane l. • Flex, fan, and straighten specialty m edia before lo ading it . • The printer may print at a reduced speed to prevent damage to the fuser.
– Have bent corners. – Have rough, cockle, o r laid fin ishes. • Adjust the width guides to fit the width of the envelopes. • Before loading the envelopes on the tr ay, flex the stack of envelop es back and forth to loos en them, and then fan them.
Tips on us ing transparenc ies • From the print er cont rol pan el, set the pap er si ze, type, te xture, and weight in the Paper menu to match t he transparencies loaded in the tray. • Print a test page on th e transparencies being considered for use before buying large quant ities.
Grain direction Grain ref ers to the alignm ent of the pa per fib ers in a sh eet of pap er. G rain is eit her grai n lon g , running the le ngth of the paper , or grain short , running the wid th of the p aper. For 60–176 g /m 2 (16–47 ‑ lb) paper, g rain lon g paper is recomm ended.
