Setup consists of connecting thi s machine to a computer and instal ling the printer driver onto th e computer being used. The installation method also differs depending on the version of Windows that you are using.

Uninstalling the printer drive r If it becomes necessary to delete the printer driver, for example, when you want to reinstall the printer driver, fo llow the procedure below to delete the driver.
Installing the printer driver 2 C451 2-22 When the printer driver does not contain the delete function If the printer driver was not installed with an installer, the delete function of the printer dri ver is not i ncluded. 1 For Windows 2000/NT 4.0, click the [Start] button, point to “Settings”, and then click “Printers”.

Refer to the tabl e below for the appropriate procedure for instal ling the printer driver on your Macin- tosh computer.
Installing the printer driver 2 C451 2-25 7 In the Easy Install dialog box, click the [Install] button. – From the second time the print er driver is installed and thereaf ter, the [Install] button may appe ar as the [Upgrade] button. The printer driver is ins talled onto the Macint osh compute r.
Installing the printer driver 2 C451 2-26 3 If this machine appears as a printe r with a Bonjour conne ction, select “KONICA MINOLTA” from the “Print Using” drop-down list, select “KONICA MINOLTA C451 PS” in the mode l list, and then click the [Add] button.
Installing the printer driver 2 C451 2-27 – When “IPP” is selected as the protoc o l in IP Printer, the text box for entering th e queue na me appe ars. For Mac OS 10.3, l eave the queue name text box empty. For Mac OS 10.4, enter “ ipp” in the queue name text box .
Installing the printer driver 2 C451 2-28 5 Make sure that “Apple Talk” is set to “Ac tive”, and then cli ck the [Laser- Write r] icon . 6 From the “Select a PostScript Printer” list, click the applicabl e printer for the printing system, and then click the [Create] button.

Uninstalling the printer drive r If it becomes necessary to delete the printer driver, for example, when you want to reinstall the printer driver, fo llow the procedure below to delete the driver.

This printing system supports 10Bas e-T, 100Base-TX and 1000Base-T standards.

Setting procedures differ depending on the method of networking pri nting used (SMB, LPR, or IPP printin g).

Operations on this machine Set the IP address fo r this machine. For the setting procedu re, refer to “Set- ting the IP address for this machine” on page 3-4.

Setting up network printing 3 C451 3-10 3.5 LPR prin ting The LPR print service is supported as standard in Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows NT 4.0, Windows Server 2003, an d Windows Vista. TCP/IP is used as the network protocol. Operations on this machine Set the IP address fo r this machine.

For Windows NT 4.0 1 Click the [Start] button, point to “Settings”, and then click “Printers”. 2 Right-click the icon of the installed printer, and then click “Properties”.
Setting up network printing 3 C451 3-12 3.6 Port 9100 printing (W indows 2000/XP/Server 2003/ Vista) The Port 9100 print service is supported as standard in Win dows 2000, Win- dows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Wind ows Vista. TCP/IP is used as the network protocol.

Setting up network printing 3 C451 3-14 3.7 IPP printing (Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista) The IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) prin t service is supported as standar d in Windows 2000, Win dows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista. TCP/IP is used as the network protocol.
