Placing Originals 1-10 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 Placing Originals Place your originals on the plat en glass or into the f eeder , depending on the siz e and type of the original, and the cop y modes that y ou w ant to use.
Placing Originals 1-11 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 Orientation Y ou can place an original either v er tically or horizontally . Alwa ys align the top e dge of y our original with the back edge of the platen gla ss (by the arro w in the top left corner), or with the bac k edge of the f eeder .
Placing Originals 1-12 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 NO TE • If the top edge of the original is not a ligned with the bac k edge of the platen glass (b y the arrow in the top left corner), your original may not be scanned correctly , depending on the cop y mode that you ha ve set.

NO TE When yo u are en larging an L TR or STMT original on to 11" × 17" or LGL pape r , place the original horizontally on the platen glass, and al ign it with the L TRR or STMTR marks.

Canceling a Copy Job 1-18 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 Canceling a Copy Job Y ou can cancel a cop y job in two w a ys: using (Stop) k ey an d using the System Monitor screen. Using the Stop Key 1 Press [Stop]. ● If y ou press (Stop) while scanning originals placed on the platen glass: ❑ Press [OK].

Reserved Copying 1-21 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 Reser ved Copying Y ou can set the machine to scan originals e v en while it is printing or waiting to process a job . IMPOR T ANT Y ou cannot reserve a cop y job when there is a paper jam or paper is not loaded in the paper dra w ers or stack b ypass.

Copy Quantity 1-23 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 Copy Quantity Y ou can make up to 99 copies f or each cop y job. Specifying the Required Number of Copies 1 Use - (numeric ke ys) to enter t he desired cop y quantity (1 to 99). The copy quantity appears on the r ight hand si de of the LCD display .
Paper Selection 1-24 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 Paper Selection Y ou can manually specify a paper siz e or set the mach ine to automatically select the paper siz e f or you.

IMPOR T ANT • If your machine is the imageR UNNER 2016 and the F eeder (DAD F-P1) is not attached, only the manual paper sele ction is av ailable.
Paper Selection 1-27 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 NO TE • If there is no paper in the paper sour ce that y ou ha ve se lected, a message prompting y ou to load the paper of t he ap propriate size appears on th e LCD displa y . Y ou cannot star t cop ying until y ou load the paper or change the paper selection.

Density and Image Quality Adjustments 1-31 Basic Cop ying F eatures 1 Original T ype Selection This machine is capab le of processing and producing cop ies according to the type of the original. Y ou can manually select the original type so that the machine reproduces copies as f aithful as possible to the original.

Two-Page Separation 2-2 Special Cop ying F eatures 2 T wo-Page Separation The T wo-P age Separation mode enab les y ou to cop y f acing pages in a book or bound original to fi t onto separ ate p ages. IMPOR T ANT • The T wo-P age Separation mode cannot be used with the Binding Hole Er ase, 2 on 1 Combination, or Diff erent Siz e Originals mode.

Frame Erase 2-6 Special Cop ying F eatures 2 ■ Book Frame Erase The Book F rame Erase mode erases the dark bor ders, as well as cente r and contour lines that appear if you are copying f acing pages in a boun d original onto a single sheet of paper .
Frame Erase 2-7 Special Cop ying F eatures 2 Original Frame Erase The Or iginal F rame Erase mode erases the dar k borders and frame lines that appear around the cop y if the original is smaller than the selected paper siz e. Y ou can also use this mode to crea te a b lank border aroun d the edge of th e cop y .

IMPOR T ANT Make sure to place originals with a horizont al (landscape) orientation, such as L TRR and STMTR, horizontally .

Specifying Copy Settings 3-4 Customizing Settings 3 Specifying Copy Settings Standard Copy Settings refer to a combination of copy modes that the machine automatically applies when y ou turn ON the main pow er or when (Reset) is pressed.
