24 3.1 Required Scanner Function Settings Which scanner settings are required differs according to the type of scan that is to be used. Note that [Device Status], [Operation Logs], and [Maintenance] menu settings are not required for normal use.

38 3. Enter a Scanner Name. Scanner names may be up to 15 characters long. Alphanumeric characters (case sensitive) and hyphe ns may be entered. Initial character may not be a hyphen. 4. Press the [OK] button. ⇒ The restart confirmation screen appears.

40 HINT If the [Later] button is pressed on th e restart confirmation screen, the current scan ner name and the ne xt scanner name (a fter restart) ar e displayed on the Scanner Name screen.The next scanner name can be changed again by entering a new scanne r name in the current scanner name field and pressing the [OK] button.

42 3.5.3 Setting the Region/Timezone 1. Select the [System Settings] tab on the top menu. 2. Select the [Region/Timezone ] tab on the left side menu. ⇒ The "Region/Timezone " screen appears. 3. Press the [List] button for the "Timezon e" input field.

44 3.5.4 Setting the Date/Time 1. Select the [System Settings] tab on the top menu. 2. Select the [Date/Time] tab on th e left side menu. ⇒ The "Date/Time" screen appear s, with a system date/time near to the current date/time shown. 3. Press the Date Format [List] button.

46 3.5.5 Setting the Time to Standby Mode The scanner can be set to automatically log out and then enter a standby state after specified periods of non-u se. For any screen after regular user login, if no operations have be en perfo rmed for the specified "Logout after" period of time, the sca nner automatically logs the user out.

48 7. Select the desired time before standby mode. The default time is "15min". 8. Press the [OK] button. ⇒ The scanner is set to first st andby and then automatically lo g out after the spec ified times. ATTENTION The "Standby after" time must be lo nger than the "Logout after" time.

50 3.5.7 Setting the Multif eed Detection Method By default, multifeed detection will monitor for paper overlaps in the central column (width: 35mm) of the documen t being scanned. Howe ver, any photos or attachments in this area will also be detected as a multifeed.

56 ■ Length Magnification Setting If the scanned output is found to be vertically dist orted (stretched or squashed) relative to the actual documents being scanned, the length magn ification can be adjusted. 1. On the "Scanner Adjustment" scre en, enter the value for the "Length Magn ification" input field.

58 3. Select whether or not a DHCP is required. Set the scanner's IP address. This may be do ne automatically, by pressing the DHCP [On] button. By default, this is set as [On].

66 7. In the "Search Base (DN)" input field, enter the distinguished name of the LDAP search base. The character string entered here will be the root under which LDAP entries will be searched for. 70 4. For the SMTP server, select whether to set a server name or IP address. Both the [Server Name] and [IP Address] bu ttons cannot be selected at the same time. 5. Enter the SMTP server or IP address (selected in Step 4). • If the [Server Name] button is selected: Enter a FQDN or server name in the input field.
