8 T o move the answering system to a different location in the house, follow these instructions: 1.
9 1. T o review the greeting, press and r elease GREETING. The unit plays back your greeting automatically.
1 0 This setting allows you to set the current time and day for the Time/Day stamp attached to each message. 1. When you have completed setting the Language, the unit will enter the TIME/D A Y menu.
1 1 1. The answering system announces, “(the curr ent day setting) T o set day, press next ... press set to continue. ” 2. To change the day, pr ess and release the NEX T or PRE VIOUS button, and the answering system announces a day, such as “Sunday, Monday” or “Sunday, Saturday.
12 This setting allows you to select the length of the incoming message. This menu comes when you have nished setting the Rings to Answer . 1. The answering system announces “Message Time (current message length) minutes.
13 6. The answering system automatically advances to the second number and announces “Security Code (current 3 number). T o set security code, press NEX T then press SET to continue.
14 When you have both old and new messages, the message counter continuously ashes the total number of messages followed by a dash, such as 2, 8, -.
15 • T o stop playback , press and r elease the STOP/SET button. • T o restart playback of a current message, press and hold the PREVIOUS button until the message restarts from the beginning. • T o go back to the beginning of a previous message, press and release the PREVIOUS button within one second.
16 Press and hold the PLA Y/MEMO button. Record your message after the announcement and the beep are hear d. Release the PL A Y/MEMO button when you’re nished talking. The answering system treats the memo as a message, and the MESSAGE counter ashes.
1 7 1. Call your telephone number . 2. After you hear the beep that follows the gr eeting, enter your 3-digit security code. T o bypass the greeting, you can enter your 3-digit security code any time while the greeting is playing.
18 T o keep your answering system working and looking good, follow these guidelines: • Avoid putting it near heating appliances and devices that generate electrical noise (for example, motors or uorescent lamps).
19 • Y ou must use touch-tone phone. • Y ou must enter the correct security code. • Did the unit hang up? If you take no action for a period of time, it automatically hangs up.
