5 Introduction Y our Digital Answering System is designed to give you flexibility in use and high quality performance. To get the most from y our new answering system, we suggest that you take a few minutes right now to read through this instruction manual.
6 Installation The Answering System can be placed on the desktop in three different positions; upright , using the mounting pedestal, at an angle using the pedestal, or lying flat without the pedestal. Choose your prefer ence and use the mounting hooks to attach the pedestal onto the answering system as shown below .
7 1. Plug the telephone line cord into a modular wall jack. 2. Connect the telephone line cord from y our telephone into the jack on the back of the answering system marked PHONE. (Y ou don’t have to connect your telephone in order for the answering system to recor d incoming messages.
8 Important Instr uctions for Moving the Answering Syst em To mov e the answering system to a different location in the house, follow these instructions: 1. Disconnect the phone line or any phones you may have connected to the answering system. 2. Unplug the power adaptor from the electrical outlet .
9 Recor ding the Greeting Before using your new answ ering system, you should record a gr eeting (the announcement callers hear when your answering system answers a call). If you don’t record a gr eeting, callers hear a default greeting which says, “We are unavailable to take your call.
10 Setting the Language This setting allows you to set the answering system in either English or in Fr ench voice menu mode. Once the language is set , all voice menus, including the one used in Remote Access mode, will be switched to the selected language.
11 Hour 1. When you have completed setting the Language, the unit will enter the TIME/D AY menu. The answering system announces, “Time (the current time and day setting) T o set hour, pr ess NEX T ( 8 ).
12 T oll Saver Information Toll Sav er can save you the cost of making a call when you access your messages from another phone: • If you have new messages, the system answers after the 2nd ring. • If you have no new messages, the system answers after the 5th ring.
13 6. The answering system automatically advances to the second number and announces “Security Code (current 3 number). T o set security code, press NEX T( 8 ), then pr ess ENTER to continue. ” To change the second and thir d numbers, repeat steps 4 and 5.
14 Message Counter Display In addition to message information, the message counter also displays information about the digital answering system’s status. • When memory is full, an “ F ” flashes in the message counter display. • When you’re recording a greeting, “ o ” shows in the message counter display.
15 NOTE: • An ‘old’ message is a message that has been listened to (even if played back partially) and not erased. • A ‘new’ message is a message that has never been listened t o at all. • At the end of each message the answering system announces the time and day the message was received.
16 NOTE: Sometimes the answ ering system will keep on playing the greeting when you pick up the phone. This is normal, especially when you pick up the extension phone at the same time the answering system is picking up the call.
17 NOTE: After the answering system plays the remote menu, it will wait 10 seconds for a command. If a command is not entered, the unit disconnects. The unit only allows two attempts at accessing the security code. If the second attempt is incorrect , the unit will end the call.
18 Answering system doesn’t work • Unplug the power cord fr om the electrical outlet and from the back of the unit . Then plug the power adapter cord back into the back of the answering system and the electrical outlet . This is a complete reset .
19 T elephone Network Information Should your equipment cause trouble on y our line which may harm the telephone network , the telephone company, where practicable, may notify y ou that temporary discontinuance of service may be required.

5 Introduction Ce répondeur numérique est un appareil polyv alent et au rendement de haute qualité. Pour tirer la maximum de ce nouveau r épondeur , nous vous suggérons de prendre maintenant quelques minutes pour bien lire de guide de l’utilisateur .
6 Installation Le répondeur peut être placé sur une table en 3 positions différ entes; debout sur le support de montage, incliné sur le support de montage ou à plat sans suppor t de montage. Sélectionnez vos préfér ences et utilisez les crochets de montage pour fixer le pied au répondeur tel qu’illustré ci-dessous.
7 1. Branchez la ligne téléphonique dans une prise murale modulaire. 2. Branchez le cordon téléphonique du téléphone dans la prise à l’ arrière du répondeur marquée PHONE. (Il n’est pas nécessaire de raccor der le téléphone pour que le répondeur enregistre les messages.
8 Instructions Impor tantes pour Déplacer le Répondeur Pour déplacer le répondeur ailleurs dans la maison, suivez ces instructions : 1. Débranchez la ligne téléphonique et tous les postes raccordés au répondeur . 2. Débranchez l’alimentation de la prise de courant .
9 Enregistr ement du Message D’accueil Avant d’utiliser votr e nouveau répondeur , enregistrez un message d’ accueil (le message que les appelants entendent quand le répondeur prend un appel).
10 Programmation de la Langue Ce réglage permet de programmer le r épondeur en mode menu vocal Anglais ou Français. Une fois que la langue est programmée, tous les menus vocaux, y compris ceux utilisés en mode accès à distance, passent à la langue choisie.
11 Heure 1. Une fois la langue programmée, l’ appareil passe au menu HEURE/JOUR . Le r épondeur annonce “Heure (le réglage d’heur e et de jour actuel). Pour programmer l’heure, appuyez sur NEX T( 8 )... puis sur ENTER pour continuer . ” 2.
12 3. Après avoir choisi le nombre, appuyez sur le bouton SETUP/ENTER pour mémoriser les sonneries avant de répondr e. Le répondeur confirme le réglage et passe au menu Dur ée du Message.
13 4. Pour changer le premier chiffre du code de sécurité, appuyez de nouveau sur le bouton ( 7 ou 8 ) . Le répondeur annonce les trois chiffr es, mais seulement le premier change, comme “123, 223” ou “123, 023” . 5. Après avoir choisi le premier chiffre, appuyez sur le bouton SETUP/ENTER pour le mémoriser .
14 Plus de 10 Messages Si vous avez de nouveaux et d’ anciens messages, le compteur clignote sans arrêt le nombre total de fois correspondant au nombre de messages suivi d’un tir et , comme 2, 8, -.
15 • Pour retourner au début d’un message antérieur , appuyez sur le bouton ( 7 ) dans la seconde qui suit . • Pour faire av ancer un message rapidement , maintenez le bouton NEX T ( 8 ) enfoncé. • Pour passer au début du message suivant , appuyez sur le bouton NEX T ( 8 ).
16 Filtrage des Appels (Autorupt eur) Lors d’un appel, le répondeur sonne le nombre de fois r églé, fait jouer le message d’accueil et enregistre l’ appel.
17 4. Choisissez la fonction que vous souhaitez utiliser et appuyez sur ce nombre au clavier du téléphone que vous utilisez. 5. Pour interrompre l’appel, raccr ochez ou appuyez sur le bouton “ 6 ” pendant que le menu joue. REMARQUE : Le répondeur répond apr ès 10 sonneries s’il est ét eint ou si la mémoire est pleine.
18 Conseils de Dépannage Ne répond pas ou r épond à la 10e sonnerie • Assurez-vous que le répondeur est allumé. • La mémoire est pleine, effacez quelques messages. • Vérifiez l’alimentation c.a. (électrique) et les branchements de la ligne téléphonique.
19 Le message d’accueil continue de jouer même apr ès qu’un poste a été décroché • Cette situation est normale. L’ autorupteur est retardé de deux secondes quand le répondeur prend un appel. Si vous vous tr ouvez à proximité du répondeur , appuyez sur le bouton PLA Y/STOP/MEMO pour interr ompre le message d’accueil.
