Documentation Updat e. .. Replacing the Power Supply This update replaces the proc edure provided in the Gateway 8450R System Manual . The redundan t 350-W powe r supply provi des all system power . If one of the comp onents of the powe r distribution hardware fails, you must replace the entire power supply .
5 Remove the two screws that secure the fan tray , th en lift the tray out of the c hassis and place it o n a static-free surface . 6 Disconnect all cables atta ched to the power supply . Note their locatio ns and orientations so you can reconnect them later .
7 Loosen the captive thumb screw at the bottom of th e power supply f ront, then slide the power supp ly forward until it stops. 8 Tilt the power supply forward a nd lift it up and back to clear the tab on the bottom of the c hassis.
11 Tigh ten the captive thumbs crew at the bottom of the power su pply t o secure it in place. 12 Place the fan tray i n the chassis and secure it with th e screws you removed in Step 5. 13 Reconnect the cabl es you removed in Step 4 . 14 Place the upper d rive bay bracket on the top of th e chassis.
