COM220 Telephone Modem 1. Introduction 1.1 General Description The COM220 modem is a selectable-baud-rate m odem employ ing the Hayes AT comm and set. Its primary use is as a rem ote site phone modem connected to a CSI datalogger. The m odem is powered and enabled by t he battery- powered datalogger.
COM220 Telephone Modem The COM220 is connected to a CSI dat alogger by a 9-pin submini ature D cable. This is the same 9-pin CS I/O interface com mon to all Campbell Scientific datal oggers (except the CR200 series). This is not an R S-232 connection.
COM220 Telephone Modem 2. Specifications • Standards: V.92, K56Flex, V.90, V.34, V.32bis, V32, V23, V22bis, V22, V.21, B212, B103 • Registration: FCC US: 3A4M508BSM 2-T-W IC 2377 A-SM2TW TBR21 •.

COM220 Telephone Modem You can modify the following COM 220 settings with DIP switches: 1) Comm unication mode (e.g., SDC or M odem Enable) 2) ME baud rate 3) PakBus ready Additional changes (see exam ples below) may be m odified with Hayes AT comm ands.
COM220 Telephone Modem 3) If using a non-PakBus datalogger (e.g., CR 510, CR10X, CR23X, CR7, CR5000), verify that DIP swi tch 1 on the COM220 is in the OPEN (modem enable) position. For PakBus loggers (e.g., CR 800, CR850, CR1000, CR3000, CR10XPB , 23XPB, etc.
COM220 Telephone Modem in Setup’s PakBusPort [LoggerNet, Setup, PakB usPort (in the device map)] may limit the baud rate selected by the modems since it defaults to 9600. You can sometim es achieve a higher connection baud rate by raising the PaKBus Port’s m aximum baud rate.
