9 Installing the Windows Drivers Windo ws 2000 Note: Y ou must be logged on as Adm inistrator or have administrator privileges to install USB2connect in the W indows 2000 opera ting system. 1 Power up the computer . During the operating system startup, the adapter will be de tected and W indows will load embedded drivers for the ad apter .

12 USB2connect User’ s Guide 6 T o verify that the driver is in stalled under the Universa l Serial Bus Host Controller secti on, right-click My Com puter , select Propertie s, then select the Hardw are tab. T o open the Device Manager , click th e Device Ma nager button.

14 USB2connect User’ s Guide 4 Selec t The updated driver (r ecommended) . Click Next . 5 Y ou m ay see a messag e that W indows is searching for the driver . Click Next. 6 When you see the following prompt, insert your W indows 98 CD in your CD-ROM drive and click OK .

Note: If you have copied your driver files onto your hard drive and know wher e they ar e located, you can browse to that folder instead of inserting the W indows 98 CD.
16 USB2connect User’ s Guide 9 At this point, the driver for the first OHCI (USB 1.1) controller is installed. T o install the driver for the second OHC I controller , repeat steps 1-8. T o install the USB 2.0 EHCI driver , repeat steps 1-3. The follow ing window w ill display .
