REMO VE BA TTER Y CO VER Inst alling Batteries CONSERVING BATTERIES: When the W eat her Radio is ON The w eat her radio is always “listening” for aler ts, even when the audio speaker is silenced. This requires substantial pow er , as a result, t he batteries will last appro ximately 3 da ys.
Quic k Setup Af ter pow ering on t he radio, y ou will need to set your preferences. Most basic preferences can be set by going through the Quic k Setup process. T o access t he Quick Se tup menu, press the “MENU” button on t he radio. The display will show “ ” .
2.Channel Setup Af ter you enter your FIPS co de, t he display will read “FIPS CODE SET” and will automatically mov e on to “C HANNEL SETUP - PRESS OK T O SC AN”. Aft er y ou press OK, the radio will automatically scan for t he strongest channel available.
The display will read “READ Y” if t he reception is optimal, press t he “LISTEN” button t o manually c heck and listen t o ho w good your reception is. If you do not hav e good reception, you may need to relocate the radio to an outside wall near a window .
