Quick Installation Guide 3Com ® AirPr otect Sensor 5750 3CRWX5750GS / Model WL-548A The 3Com® AirProtect Sensor 5750 provides dual-radio IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b/g wireless intrusion prevention (WIP) capability for your network. The sensor is designed for use with a 3Com AirProtect WIPS Engine 6100, and requir es hardware inst allati on only.
2 3Com AirProtect Sensor 5750 Featur es Feature Description 1 Antenna Connectors Two RSMA type antenna connectors allow you to connect antennas that operate i n 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bands. 2 LEDs The LEDs indicate pow er and ac tivity. See “Checking the LED Indicators” on page 8 for details.
3 Observing Safety Precautions This equipment must be inst alled in compliance wi th local and national building codes, regulatory restrictions, and FCC rule s. For the safety of people and equipment, only professional network personnel should install the sensor.

7 5. Connecting Powe r and the N etwork The sensor connects to your network through its Et hernet port. This is also how the unit receives power. The sensor can be powered by the following methods: • By Power Over Ethernet (PoE ) supplied through the LAN by a 802.
