Y1 - 03 -022 8 Rev. B 7 4.1 Activation (406 M Hz and 121.5 M Hz) To activate your b eacon in a distress situation, follow t hese steps: 1) Unfasten the anten na from the case. 2) Move it into the uprig ht position (s ee figure 3 b elow ). 3) Depress the ON/OFF button for 1 f ull second.

B 8 Figure 4 – GPS R eceiver Location 4. 4 GPS Receiver Orient ation W hen activated it is critical that y ou do not cover the beacon with an y body part, water, clothin g, etc. The GPS receiver is located under the bottom portion of the case behind the ResQFix™ or MicrOFix™ logo ( s ee figure 4).

It is imperative that the receiver is not obstruc ted during self test or activati on to ensure that t he GPS rece iver is acquir ing your latitude (LAT ) and longitude (LO N) position.
Y1 - 03 -022 8 Rev. B 10 Figure 6- Attachment Clip 5.2 Attachment Clip The ResQFix™ com es standard with an attachm ent clip. To install the c lip, sim ply align the bot tom tabs on the clip with t he insert ho les l ocated on th e bottom of the beacon.

At each inspection , check the tim e rem aining until replacem ent is required. The battery s hould b e repl aced if the beacon has been activated for any use other than the self test.
