2 Getting to Kno w Your ZSR4134WS Top Panel LED Indicator Status Description POWER ON ZSR4134WS is switched on and correctly powere d SYS Flashing Indicates the system works normally. ON Indicates WA N port is connected WAN Flashing Indicates WAN activity (transferring or receiving data) WLAN Flashing Indicates the wireless signal is OK.

4 Chapter 2 Hardware Installation Please follow the following instruction to build the netwo rk connection between your ZSR4134WS and y our computers, ne twork devices: 1. Connect all your computers, network devi ces (network - enabled consumer devices other than computers, like game c onsole, or switch / hub) to the LAN port o f ZSR4134WS .
5 3. Connect y our xDSL / cabl e modem to the W AN port of ZSR4134WS by Ethernet cable. 4. Please check all LEDs on the top panel. P OWER LED should be steadily on, W A N and LAN LEDs should be on if the comp uter / network device connected to the respectiv e port of ZSR4134WS is powered on and correctl y connected.
6 Chapter 3 Connect Your ZSR41 34WS How to Set the Network Config urations for My Computer 1. Click Start → → → → Contro l Panel 2. Click Network and Internet Connections → → → → Netwo.

10 Chapter 4 Basic Confi gurations This section is to show you how to configure your new ZSR4 134WS through the W eb-based Configuration Utility . How to Access t he Web-based Conf iguration Utility 1.
1 1 Setup Wizard 1. When Welcome to Setup Wiza rd pop out, Click Next to continue. 2. Select one Internet connection type you’re using. If you’re not sure, click Detect or contact your Internet Service Provider .
12 a. ADSL Virtual Dial-up (Via PPPoE) Enter the Account and P assword provided by your ISP , and click Next . b. Dynamic IP (Via DHCP) If your connection t ype is Dynamic IP , it means your IP addre ss keeps changing every time y ou connect. Y o u do not ne ed to ent er the information.
13 After configurat ion, please click Next . e. PPTP Enter the Server IP Address, User Name, and Password provided by your ISP PPTP (PP T unneling Pro tocol) provides two address modes. Dynamic IP: If the PPTP offered by your ISP is Dynamic IP , please select Dynamic IP .
14 3. Click Apply and reboot ZSR413 4WS, or select Reboot in System Tools o f the left menu and click Reboot the router button. 4. While rebooting, please wait for few minutes and DO NOT power off . 5. Select System Status of the left menu to find out the current network and system information.
15 Chapter 5 Advanced Settings LAN Settings MAC Address: ZSR4134WS’ s ph ysical M AC add ress on your local network is unchangeable. IP Address: ZSR4134WS’s LAN IP address (not your PC’ s IP address). Once you modify the IP address, y ou n eed to remember it for the W eb-based Utility login next time.
16 WAN Settings a. PPPoE Connection Mode: Show your current connection mode. Account: Provided by your ISP . Password: Provided by your ISP . MTU: Maximum T ran smission Unit. It is the size of largest datagram that can be sent ov er a networ k.
17 b. Dynamic IP MTU: Maximum T ran smission Unit. It is the size of largest datagram that can be sent ov er a networ k. The default v alue is 1500. Do NOT modify it unless necessary . c. Static IP IP Address: Enter the WAN IP address provided by your ISP .
18 d. L2TP L2TP Server IP: Enter the Server IP provided by y our ISP . User Name: Enter L2TP username. Password: Enter L2TP password. MTU: Maximum T ransmission Unit, you may need to change it for optimal performance with your specific ISP .
19 e. PPTP PPTP Server IP: Enter the Server IP provided by y our ISP . User Name: Enter PPTP username provided by your ISP . Password: Enter PPTP password provided by your ISP . MTU: Maximum T ransmission Unit, you may need to change it for optimal performance with your specific ISP .
20 MAC Address Cl one MAC Address: The MAC address registe red with y our Interne t service provider . Clone MAC address: Regist er your PC's MAC address. Restore default MAC address: Restore the default hardware MAC address. DNS Settings DNS: Choose the checkbox to enable the DNS server .
21 Chapter 6 Wireless Settings Basic Settings Network Mode: Supports 802.11b/g mixed, 802.11 b, 802.11g and 802.11b/g/n mixed modes. SSID: Main Service Set Identifier . It’s the name of your wireless network. Broadcast (SSID): Decide if ZSR41 34WS will broadcast its own ESSID or not.
22 Operating Mode : Supports two modes: Mixed Mode: In this mode packets are transmitted with a preamble compatible with the legacy 802.11a/g – the legacy Short T raining Field(STF), the legacy Long T raining Field(L TF) and the legacy signal field are tr ansmitted so they can be de coded by legacy 80 2.
23 Wireless Securit y Settings a. Mixed WEP WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is an encryption method used to protect your wireless data communications. WEP uses a combination o f 6 4-bit o r 128-bit keys to pro vide access c ontrol to your network and encryption security for every dat a transmission.
24 b. WPA-Personal Wi-Fi Protected Acce ss (WPA) is an advanced se curity standard. It uses TKIP and AES to change the encryption key fre quently. WPA Algorithms: Select one encryption type, AES, TKIP or TKIP&AES. Pass Phrase: Enter the key which must hav e 8-63 ASCII characters.
25 c. WPA2-Personal The WPA2 is a stronger version of WPA. WPA Algorithms: Select one encryption type, AES, TKIP or TKIP&AES. Pass Phrase: Enter the key which must hav e 8-63 ASCII characters. Key Renewal Interval: Specifies the timer the WPA key must changes.
26 d. Mixed WPA/WPA2-Personal WPA Algorithms: Select one encryption type, AES, TKIP or TKIP&AES. Pass Phrase: Enter the key which must hav e 8-63 ASCII characters. Key Renewal Interval: Specifies the timer the WPA key must changes. The change is done automatically between the serve r and the client.
27 Advanced Wireless Settings ZSR4134WS provides some advanced control of w ireless param eters, if you want to configure these setting s, please click “WLAN Settings” menu on the left of web mana.
28 WPS Settings Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is the s implest way to build c onnection between wireless networ k clients and ZSR4134WS. Y ou don’ t have to se lect encryption mode and input a long en.
29 WDS Settings WDS (Wireless Dis tribution S ystem) i s used to expand wireless cov erage area. ZSR4134WS provides three modes: Lazy , Bridge and Re peater .
30 Repeater Mode: You can select the mode to extend the di stance between the two WLAN devices. Functioning as a WDS repeater , ZSR4134WS connects to both a client card as an AP a nd to another AP. In typical repeater applications, APs connecting to other APs equipped with W DS fu nctionality must al so support WDS.
31 Wireless Conne ction Status Click Refresh to update the wireless co nnection information. MAC Address: Shows the connecting PC’s M AC address.
32 Chapter 7 DHCP Server These se ttings are only available when DH CP Serv er in LAN IP section is Enable . DHCP Server DHCP Server: Act iv ate t he checkbox to enable DHCP server . IP Address Start/End: Enter the range of IP address for DHCP server distribution.
33 DHCP Server Li st & Binding IP Address: Input the IP address for the computer on the LAN network. MAC Address: Ent er the MAC address o f the computer you want to a ssign. And then click Add to add to the list. Hostname: The name of the computer .
34 Chapter 8 Virtual Server Port Range Forwardin g This section deals with the port range forwarding m ainly . The Port R ange F orwarding allows you to set up a range of public services such as web servers, ftp, e-mail and other specialized Inter net applications to an a ssigned IP a ddress on your LAN.
35 DMZ Settings The DMZ(Demilitarized Zone) f unction is to allow one computer in LAN to be exposed to the Internet for a special-purpose service as Internet gami ng or videoconferencing. DMZ Host IP Address: The IP address of the computer you w ant to expose.
36 Chapter 9 Traffic Control T raffic contro l is used to limit communication speed in the LAN and WAN. U p to 20 entries can be supported with the capability for at most 254 PCs' speed control, including for IP address range confi guration. Traffic Control: Select the checkbox to enable the internal IP bandwidth control.
37 Chapter 10 Secur ity Settings Client Filter T o benefit your further management t o the co mputers in the LAN, you can control some ports access to Internet by data packet filter function. Client Filtering Settings: Select the checkbox to enable client filter .
38 URL Filter If you want to prevent computers in local network from accessing certain website (like por nogr aphy , v iolence, or anyt hing you want to block), you can use this function to stop computers in local network from ac cessing the site you defined here.
39 MAC Filter MAC Filtering Sett ings: Select the checkbox to enable MAC address filter . Access Policy: Select one number from the drop-dow n menu. Enable: Se lect the checkbox to enable the access policy . Delete the Policy: Click Clear button to clear all settings fo r the policy .
40 Remote WEB Man agement This function is to allow the network administrator to manage ZSR4134W S remotely . If y ou want to access ZSR4134 WS from outsid e the local netwo rk, please select the Enable . Enable: Select the checkbox to enable remote web management.
41 Chapter 11 Routing Settings Routing Table The main duty for ZSR4134WS is to l ook for a best path for every data fram e, and tr ansfer this da ta fr ame to destination. So, it’ s essential for Z SR4134WS to choose the best path. In order to finish this function, many transferring paths are saved in ZSR413 4WS for choosing when needed.
42 Chapter 12 System Tools Time Settings This function is to select the time zone for your location. If you turn off ZSR4134WS, the time settings will disappear . However , ZSR4134WS will automatically obtain the GMT time again once it access to the Internet.
43 DDNS: Select one button to enable or disable the DDNS service. Service Provider: Select one from the drop-down menu a nd press Sign up for registrat ion. User Name: Enter the same user name as the registration name. Password: Enter the passwor d you set.
