5 Electr ical Requirements IMPORT ANT : The cooktop must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes and ordinances, or in the abse nce of local codes, with the Nationa l Electrical Code , ANSI/NFP A 70 or Canadian Electrical Code, CSA C22.
6 ■ Must include a shutoff valve: The supply line must be equi pped with a manual shutoff valve. This valve sh ould be located in the same r oom but externa l to the cooktop opening, such as an adjacent cabinet. It must be acce ssible without removing the cooktop, and it should be i n a location that allows ease of opening and closing.
7 Mak e Gas Connection T ypical flex ible connection 1. Apply pipe -joint co mpound ma de for use with Natural and LP gas to the smaller thread ends of the flexible connector adapters (see C and G in the following illustration). 2. Attach one adapter to the gas pr essure regulator and the other adapter to the gas shutoff valve.
