8 USING YOUR COOKTOP • Handles should be made of a sturdy, heat- resistant material and be securely attached to the pan. • Pans should be easy to clean. Check to be sure there are no crevices, rough edges or areas where food might collect. • Be sure pans do not tip, whether they are full or empty.
9 USIING YOUR COOKTOP Home canning information The larger diameter of most water-bath or pressure canners combined with high heat settings for long periods of time can cause damage to the cooktop. To protect your cooktop: • For best results, use a canner which can be centered over the surface burner.

11 CARING FOR YOUR COOKTOP Surface burners 1. Wipe off surface burners with warm, soapy water and a sponge after each use. To remove cooked-on food, soak the burners in a vinegar and water solution for 20-30 minutes. Scrub with a plastic scrubbing pad.
