5 U sing Y our Cooktop The locator pin on the grate must be positioned in the burner cap hole to hold the grate in place. The grates located on the left and right side of the cooktop contain grooves. These grooves must always face inward toward the control knobs to hold the grates in place.

11 11 Using Your Cooktop Using the control knobs Y our cooktop comes with electric ignitors. Electric ignitors automatically light the burners each time you turn the con- trol knobs to LITE. • Place a filled pan on the burner grate before turning on the surface burner .
12 In case of a prolonged power failure Y ou can manually light surface bur ners. Hold a lit match near a burner and tur n the contr ol knob to the LITE position.
13 Y our cooktop is designed so you can care for it easily . Y ou can do most cleaning with items found around your home. Cleaning your cooktop whenever spills or soiling occurs will help to keep it looking and working like new . Before cleaning, always make sur e all controls ar e off and the cooktop is cool.

15 Sealed sur face burners and cooktop Cast-iron burner cap Cleaning the sur face burners • Y ou should routinely remove and clean the burn- er caps. Always clean the burner caps after a spillover . Keeping the burner caps clean prevents improper ignition and an uneven flame.
16 T o clean the bur ners: 1. Pull the burner caps straight up from the burner base. 2. Clean the burner caps with warm, soapy water and a sponge. Y ou can also clean the caps with a mildly abrasive plastic scrubbing pad and pow- dered cleanser . Do not clean the burner caps in a dishwasher or self-cleaning oven.

16 Pour nettoyer les brûleurs : 1. Retirer le couvercle du brûleur de sa base en le soulevant. 2. Nettoyer le couvercle du brûleur avec une eau savonneuse tiède et une éponge. Pour les taches tenaces, nettoyer avec un bloc à récurer légèrement abrasif et un détergent en poudre.
