A-9 Remove P ackaging fr om Grill Remove all tape from packaging. Remove bottom rack from top of packaging. Remove outer box. Pull out bottom tray from cooking box. Remove packaging material from bottom tray , catch pan holder , catch pan, and drip pan.

B-2 Installing the warming rack Y ou will need: war ming rac k. Set the warming rack into the slots at the rear of the cooking bo x. Installing the Warm-Up™ Basket Y ou will need: W arm-Up Basket In.
C-1 Check that all b urner valves are off Y ou will need: burner control knobs. V alv es are shipped in the OFF position, but you should check to be sure that the y are tur ned OFF . Put the knob on each v alv e. Check by pushing do wn and turning clockwise.
C-2 Install Gas Supply General Specifications f or Piping Note - Contact your local m unicipality for b uilding codes regulating outdoor gas barbecue installa- tions. In absence of Local Codes, y ou must con- firm to the latest edition of ANSI Z223.1.
C-3 Gas Line Piping ■ If the length of the line required does not e xceed 50 f eet, use a 5/8" O .D . tube. One size larger should be used for lengths g reater than 50 feet. ■ Gas piping ma y be copper tubing, type K or L; polyeth ylene plastic tube, with a minimum w all thic k- ness of .
C-4 (1) (2) Check f or gas leaks Note - All f actory-made connections hav e been thoroughly chec ked f or gas leaks. The burners hav e been flame-tested. As a saf ety precaution how e ver , you should rechec k all fittings for leaks bef ore using your W eber Gas Barbecue.
C-5 Reinstall control panel (after c hecking f or gas leaks) (1) Set the control panel in place ov er both sides of the frame. Hold the crossov er ignition b utton up while setting the control panel in place. (2) Line up the control panel with the white plastic plugs in the frame brace .

D-3 Lighting the Side Burner The side burner has a separate ignition system from the main cooking bo x. m D ANGER F ailure to open the lid while igniting the side burner , or not waiting 5 minutes to allow the gas to clear if the side b urner does not light, may result in an e xplosive flame-up which can cause serious bodily injury or death.
D-4 Cooking m W ARNING: Do not mo ve the W eber Gas Barbe- cue when operating or while barbecue is hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT and BA CK burners as desired. The control settings: High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your W eber cookbook.
D-5 Using the S mo ker B o x The Smoker cooks with both W eber Firespice™ W ood Chips and Chunks. F or best results with faster cooking f oods like steaks , burgers and chops, etc., w e recom- mend using the FireSpice Chips because they ignite and create smoke f aster .
D-6 Annual Maintenance After a period of nonuse, we recommend that y ou perf orm the following maintenance procedures f or y our saf ety . m W ARNING: Chec k the hose before each use of the barbecue for nic ks, cracking, abrasions or cuts. If the hose is found to be damaged in an y way , do not use the barbecue.
D-7 General Maintenance Weber Spider Stopper™ Guards Y our W eber Gas Barbecue, as well as any outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the v entur i section (V enturi(1), air shutter(2), venturi fin(3) ) of the b ur ner tubes.

D-9 Cr osso ver® Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er Ignition System fails to ignite the Left burner , light the Left burner with a match. If the Left burner lights with a match, then check the Crosso v er Ignition System. ■ Check that both the white(1) and b lack(2) ignition wires are attached properly .
D-10 T r oub leshooting Pr oblem Chec k Cure Burners b urn with a yello w or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Inspect W eber Spider Stopper Guards for possib le obstr uctions. (Blockage of holes .) Clean Weber Spider Stopper Guards.
D-11 Side Burner T r oubleshooting Pr oblem Chec k Cure Side Burner does not light. Flame is low in HIGH position. Flame is very yello w in conjunction with the smell of gas, OR Burner makes popping noise in conjunction with the smell of gas. Push button ignition does not work.
D-12 m W ARNING: All gas controls and supply v alves should be in the OFF position. Make sure b lack wire is connected between igniter and electrode. Mak e sure white wire is connected between igniter and ground. Chec k that igniter loc k nut is tight.
