6 General Instructions Y our W eber Gas Barbecue is a por table outdoor cooking appliance. With the W eber Gas Barbecue you can grill, barbecue, roast and bak e with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flav or izer Bars produce that "outdoor" fla vor in the f ood.

10 Figure 1 Step 2 Assemble wheels Y ou will need: axle, two wheel hubcaps , two wheels , wheel frame, hammer and a b lock of wood. Place one end of the axle on the bloc k of wood (or other protected surf ace). T ap on one hubcap. Put one wheel on the axle, WEBER side to ward the hubcap .
11 Figure 3 Step 4 Continue frame assemb ly Y ou will need: caster frame, wheel fr ame , f our 1/4-20 x 1/2 inch bolts, f our nylon washers and a 7/16 inch wrench. Place the caster frame onto the tabs of the left frame with the dimple to the inside. Figure 3.
12 Figure 6 Step 7 Add front panel Y ou will need: front panel and two plastic b uttons. T ur n frame assembly right side up . Inser t the tab on the narrow end of the front panel up through the slot in the frame brace as sho wn in figure 6.
13 Y our W eber Gas Barbecue b urner assembly has been f actory assembled, pressure and flame tested. As a saf ety precaution we recommend y ou chec k the bur ner alignment: a) Do the valv es fit into the ends of the burners? Figure 9 (a).
14 Step 10 Install igniter Note - The igniter wires are already attached to the Gas Catcher Ignition Chamber and the igniter . This was done to f actory test the ignition system. The igniter lock n ut and igniter gask et are on the igniter . Route the igniter and wires as shown.

Step 13 Check f or gas leaks D ANGER Do not use an open flame to chec k f or gas leaks. Be sure there are no sparks or open flames in the area while y ou chec k f or leaks. This will result in a fire or explosion which can cause serious bodil y injury or death and damage to property .
17 (a) Figure 15 (c) (b) Check: a) Hose to manif old connection. Figure 15 (a). W ARNING: If there is a leak at connection a, retighten the fitting with a wrench and rechec k for leaks with soap and water solution. If a leak persists after retightening the fitting, turn OFF the gas .
18 Step 16 Install Lid Y ou will need: lid, two hinge pins and two hair pin cotters . Set the lid in place. Align the hinges at the rear of the barbecue. Inser t hinge pins from the outside . Insert hair pin cotters into the small holes in the hinge pins.
19 Step 17 Add tool holders, control panel and b ur ner control knobs Y ou will need: three tool holders, control panel, two Phillips screws/w ashers, a Phillips scre wdr iv er , and three burner control knobs. Hook the tool holders ov er the frame rail.
20 Slot in frame (view from belo w) Inser t one end of the hinge rod into the hole in the frame. Figure 24 (a). Inser t the other end into the hole in the s wing table end brac ket. Figure 24 (b). Hold the end br ack et at an angle so the lower tab is inside the fr ame tube.
21 Step 19 Complete accessor y installation Y ou will need: W ar m-Up Basket, war ming rack, w ork table, two accessory trays , three tubing plugs, thermometer and a hammer . Inser t one end of the W eber W ar m-Up Bask et into the hole in the right end of the lid and the other end into the slot in the left end of the lid.

23 Manual Lighting W ARNING: Do not lean over open barbecue. Keep your face and bod y at least one foot awa y fr om the matchlight hole when lighting the barbecue. 5) Push Front b ur ner control knob down and turn to ST ART / HI. 6) Check that the burner is lit by looking through the matchlight hole on the front of the cooking bo x.
24 Cooking W ARNING: Do not move the W eber Gas Barbecue when operating or hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT , CENTER and BACK b ur ners as desired. The control settings High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your W eber cookbook.
25 Inspection and Cleaning of the W eber Spider Stopper Guards T o inspect the Spider Stopper Guards, remov e the control panel and look to see if they ha ve dust or dir t on their outside surf aces. If the y are dir ty , br ush off the outside surf ace of the Spider Stopper Guards with a soft bristle brush (an old toothbr ush f or example).
26 General Maintenance W eber Spider Stopper Guards Y our W eber Gas Barbecue , as w ell as an y outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the venturi section of the b urner tubes. This bloc ks the nor mal gas flow , and can cause the gas to flow back out of the air shutter .
27 e) Remov e the manifold brac k et and unscrew the tw o wing nuts that hold the manif old to the cooking box. Pull the manif old and v alve assemb ly out of the burners and carefully set it down.
