5 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Y our W eber Gas Barbecue is a por table outdoor cooking appliance. With the W eber Gas Barbecue you can grill, barbecue, roast and bak e with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flav orizer ® Bars produce that “ outdoor ” flav or in the f ood.

7 EA CH HEA T ZONE OPERA TES INDEPENDENTL Y . 1) Open the lid. 2 ) Make sure all burner control knobs are tur ned OFF . (Push each burner control knob down and turn clockwise.) W ARNING: The storage space under the cooking module is intended for stora g e of nonflammable items only .
8 3) T ur n the tank on by turning the tank valv e counterclockwise . 4) Select heat zone . 5) Put a match in the match holder and strike the match. 6) Inser t match holder and lit match through matchlight hole to ignite LEFT burner . W ARNING: Do not lean over open barbecue.
9 COOKING W ARNING: T urn your W eber Gas Barbecue OFF and wait for it to cool bef ore cleaning. CA UTION: Do not clean your Fla vorizer ® Bars or cooking grates in a self-cleaning o ven.
10 The Steam-N-Chips Smoker cooks with both W eber FireSpice Wood Chips and Chunks . For best results with f aster cooking foods lik e steaks, burgers and chops , etc., we recommend using the FireSpice Chips because the y ignite and create smoke f aster .
11 REFILLING THE LIQUID PROP ANE CYLINDER W e recommend that you refill the LP cylinder bef ore it is completely empty . Remov al of the LP cylinder 1) Close cylinder valv e (turn clockwise). 2) Unscre w regulator coupling by tur ning counterclockwise , by hand only .
12 Hook the liquid propane cylinder onto the fuel gauge. Loosen the cylinder lock wing n ut. Swing the cylinder loc k down. Tighten the wing nut. Remov e plastic dust cov er from the fuel cylinder valv e. Screw the regulator coupling onto the cylinder v alve(1), clockwise , or to the r ight.
13 Spider/Insect screens Y our Gas Barbecue, as w ell as any outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the v enturi section V enturi(1) of the burner tubes. This bloc ks the nor mal gas flow , and can cause the gas to flow bac k out of the air shutter .
14 GENERAL MAINTENANCE Replacing Main Burners 1. Y our Weber Gas Barbecue m ust be OFF and cool. 2. T urn OFF gas at source. 3. Disconnect regulator . 4. T o remov e control panel ref er to “ Remo ve the control panel and the front panel ” in the Step-By-Step Guide.
15 10. Slide the burner assembly from each Heat Zone . The left and right burners are connected by the Crossov er tube. ( 1) 9. Pull the manifold(1) out of the b ur ners.
16 GENERAL MAINTENANCE 11. Lift and twist the burner assembly slightly to separate the crossov er tube(1) from the burners. Remov e the burners from the cooking box. Separate here (1) 12. T o reinstall the burners, re verse steps 3 through 11. CA UTION: The burner openings m ust be positioned properl y over the v alve orifices.
17 Prob lem Burners b urn with a yellow or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Burner does not light, or flame is low in HIGH position. Experiencing flare-ups: CAUTION: Do not line the bottom tray with aluminum f oil. Burner flame pattern is erratic.
