C-1 Gas Instructions Install Gas Supply General Specifications for Piping Note - Contact your local m unicipality for b uilding codes regulating outdoor gas barbecue installations. In absence of Local Codes, y ou must confirm to the latest edition of ANSI Z223.
C-2 Gas Instructions (1) (1) (2) (2) a b Connect Gas Suppl y a) T o connect gas hose at the supply: Slide bac k the collar of the quick disconnect. Push male fitting of the hose into the quick disconnect, and maintain pressure(1). Slide the collar closed(2).

C-4 Gas Instructions Chec k for gas leaks D ANGER Do not use an open flame to chec k for gas leaks. Be sure there are no sparks or open flames in the area while you c heck f or leaks. Sparks or open flames will result in a fire or explosion whic h can cause serious bodily injury or death and damage to pr oper ty .
C-5 Gas Instructions Reinstall control panel P ar ts required: control panel, screws , and burner control knobs. Place the control panel back onto the control panel brack ets on either side of the front of the cooking bo x. Line up screws with scre w holes on both the control panel and control panel brac kets.

D-6 Oper ating Instructions Using the Smoker The smoker uses presoak ed wood chips. For best results with f aster cooking foods lik e steaks, b urgers and chops, etc., we recommend using finer w ood chips because they ignite and create smok e faster .

D-9 Main & Smoker Burner T r oubleshooting Pr oblem Chec k Cure Burner s burn with a yellow or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Inspect W eber ® Insect/Spider Screens f or possible obstructions. (Blockage of holes .) Clean W eber ® Insect/Spider Screens.
D-10 Pr oblem Check Cure Side Burner does not light. Flame is low in HIGH position. Push button ignition does not work. Is gas supply off? T ur n supply on. Is the fuel hose bent or kink ed? Straighten hose . Does burner light with a match? If match lights b ur ner , checkigniter (see below).

E-2 Maintenance Replacing Main Burners 1. Y our Summit ® gas grill must be OFF and cool. 2. T ur n gas OFF at source. 3. Disconnect regulator . 4. Remov e cooking grates . 5. Remov e Smoker bo x. 6. Remov e Flav orizer ® bars. 7. T o remov e control panel refer to “Remove the control panel” under “Check f or Gas Leaks.
E-3 Maintenance (a) (b) (b) 11. Lift and twist the burner assembly slightly , to separate the Crossov er ® tube (a) from the burners (b). 12. Remov e the Crossov er ® tube. 13. Pull the selected burner(s) tube(s) from manif old frame and replace with a ne w burner tube.
E-4 Maintenance Cr ossover ® Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er ® ignition system f ails to ignite the LEFT burner in a burner set, light the LEFT burner with a match. If the LEFT burner lights with a match, then check the Crossov er ® ignition system.
