C-1 Gas Instructions Important LP Cylinder Information F ailure to follo w these DANGER statements exactly ma y result in a fire causing death or serious injur y . D ANGER NEVER store a spare LP Cylinder under or near this barbecue. NEVER fill the tank bey ond 80% full.
C-2 Gas Instructions W e utilize v ar ious LP tank manuf acturers. Some of the tanks hav e diff ering top collar assembles. (The top collar is the metal protectiv e r ing around the v alve .) One ser ies of tanks mount with the valv e facing front. The other tanks mount with the v alve f acing aw ay from the fuel scale .

C-4 Gas Instructions Remov e the Front P anel by sliding the panel up and out of the slots. Chec k for gas leaks D ANGER Do not use an open flame to chec k for gas leaks. Be sure there are no sparks or open flames in the area while y ou chec k for leaks.
C-5 Gas Instructions Check: 1) Hose connection. 2) Gas line to manif old connections. 3) I.R. Bur ner gas line connection. W ARNING: If there is a leak at connection (1,2, or 3), retighten the fitting with a wrench and rec heck for leaks with soap and water solution.

Place the control panel bac k onto the control panel brac kets on either side of the front of the cooking bo x. Line up screws with scre w holes on both the control panel and control panel brac kets.
C-7 Gas Instructions Liquid Propane Cylinder The liquid propane cylinder manuf acturer is responsible f or the materials, workmanship and performance of the tank. If the tank has a def ect malfunctions, or you ha ve a question regarding the tank, call the tank manuf acturer’ s customer ser vice center .
C-8 Gas Instructions Safe handling tips f or Liquid Propane Gas Cylinders • Liquid Propane (LP) gas is a petroleum product as are gasoline and natural gas . LP gas is a gas at regular temperatures and pressures . Under moderate pressure, inside a cylinder , LP gas is a liquid.

D-6 Oper ating Instructions (1) Using the Smoker The smoker uses presoak ed wood chips. For best results with f aster cooking foods lik e steaks, b urgers and chops, etc., we recommend using finer w ood chips because they ignite and create smok e faster .

D-10 Oper ating Instructions Using the Rotisserie Note - Bef ore using your rotisserie, measure y our food at the widest point. If it e xceeds 9 1/2”, it is too large to fit the rotisserie. If it is too large, f ood can be prepared using a roast holder and the Indirect Cooking Method.
D-11 Oper ating Instructions Lighting the Rotisserie Burner A TTENTION: READ BEFORE LIGHTING RO TISSERIE BURNER After a period of non-use, before lighting the Rotis- serie Burner , a few seconds m ust pass for the gas supply line to fill.
D-12 Oper ating Instructions W ARNING: Do not lean over the open grill. 5) Push rotisser ie burner control knob down and turn to ST ART/HI. Continue to hold the control knob down. Continue to the ne xt lighting step . 6) Push and hold down the Igniter button until b ur ner ignites.
D-13 Oper ating Instructions 3) Make sure all b ur ner control knobs are tur ned OFF . (Push control knob down and turn clockwise to ensure that it is in the OFF position.) W ARNING: The burner contr ol knobs must be in the OFF position before turning on the liquid pr opane cylinder tank v alve.
D-14 Pr oblem Chec k Cure Burner s burn with a yellow or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Inspect W eber ® Insect / Spider screens f or possible instructions. (Blockage of holes .) Clean W eber ® Insect / Spider screens. (See Section “Annual Maintenance”) Burner s do not light.
D-15 Pr oblem Chec k Cure Side Burner does not light. Flame is low in HIGH position. Push button ignition does not work. Is gas supply off? T ur n supply on. Is the fuel hose bent or kink ed? Straighten hose . Does burner light with a match? If match lights b ur ner , checkigniter (see below).
D-16 Rotisserie T r oubleshooting Pr oblem Chec k Cure Burner does not light. Did you hold the b urner control knob down and hold do wn for 20 seconds until after burner ignited? T r y to relight burner by holding burner control knob down and continue holding do wn until 20 seconds after burner has ignited.

E-2 Maintenance Replace Main Burners 1. Y our Summit ® gas gr ill must be OFF and cool. 2. T ur n gas OFF at source. 3. Disconnect regulator . 4. Remov e cooking grates . 5. Remov e Smoker bo x. 6. Remov e Flav orizer ® bars. 7. T o remov e control panel refer to “Remov e the control panel” under “Chec k for Gas Leaks .
E-3 Maintenance 9. Disconnect the Thermocouple from the IR Bur ner valv e. 10. Remov e screws from the manif old assembly: (a) Locate the screws on both sides of the manif old frame.
E-4 Maintenance 12. Lift and twist the b ur ner assembly slightly , to separate the Crossov er ® tube (a) from the burners (b). 11. Pull manif old assembly out from the manif old frame. (a) (b) (b) 13. Remo ve the Crossov er ® tube. 14. Pull the selected b ur ner(s) tube(s) from manif old frame and replace with a ne w burner tube.
E-5 Maintenance Cr ossover ® Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er ® ignition system f ails to ignite the LEFT burner in a burner set, light the LEFT burner with a match. If the LEFT burner lights with a match, then check the Crossov er ® ignition system.
