- 3 - HEAVY DUTY ELECTRIC GRIDDLE TOP GENERAL Heavy Duty Elect ric Griddle Tops are produced wi th quality work manship and ma terials. Proper installation , usage and main tenance of the griddle top will result in ma ny years of satisfa ctory per formance.
- 4 - UNPACKING This griddle to p was inspected before lea ving the factory. The tra nsportation company assumes full responsi bility for safe deliver y upon acceptanc e of shipment.
- 5 - To raise the assembly to the 47 ˚ position 1. Lift by the handle only 2. Raise until assembly locks itself into place. See Fig. B Do not squeeze the trigger and handle together to raise the assembly. Do not force unit if it does not move up and down in the prescribed manner.
- 6 - USING THE ELECTRIC GR IDDLE To preheat, wipe the griddle top p late with cook ing oil and set th e thermostats fo r the desired temper atures 10-1 2 minutes befo re cooking. A uniform and sy stematic ap proach to loading the griddle wi ll produce the most co nsistent product re sults.
- 7 - ONCE PER DAY Thoroughly clean all sta inless steel exter i or panels and su rfaces. Clean th e cooking surface with a non-metallic sco uring pad (Scotch-Brite™).
- 8 - MAINTENANCE The griddle a nd its parts ar e hot. Use car e when oper ating, clea ning or servicin g the griddle. Disconnect pow er supply and follow lockout / tagout procedures before cleani ng and servicing th e appliance. LUBRICATION There are no par ts on this unit th at require lu brication.

Griddle Top Assembl y Mountin g Points Prior to assembly, make sure the mounting bracket is the correct size.
- 10 - 4. Securely tighten the mounting bracket system assembly bolts at the left and right side mounting brackets. Fig. 4. 5. Check that the left and right m ounting brackets have not moved from position while the assembly bolts were tightened.
- 11 - 8. Drill the remaining holes through the side mounting brackets into the griddle chassis. Insert and tighten screws as shown in Fig. 7. Repeat procedure for the other side of the assembly.
- 12 - It may be necessary to angle the griddle and hang one of the four legs off the edge of the table at a time to complete step 11. Ensure that the griddle is safely supported and this step is accomplished with aid of a second person. 11. Drill two holes with 5/32” bits through bottom support brackets and into the bottom of griddle chassis.
- 13 - 14. Place cardboard or other protective covering on the gas griddle surface to prevent scratching. 15. Set electric griddle top down on the gas griddle plate at desired mounting position. Lower rear arm assembly into place so that notches on arm engage mounting bracket rails as shown in Fig.
- 14 - 17. Set lower mounting spacer in place. Apply a thread locking compound to (2) M10 hex bolts with lock washers. Insert the bolts through the mounting spacer and bracket. Thread into the mounting plate (set into place in step 13) and tighten. See Fig.

- 16 - 20. Reinstall the tension rod cover and tighten screws. Fig. 18 21. Check range of motion as shown in Fig. 19. The assembly should lock at the 90 ˚ and 47 ˚ positions. Assembly should release from locked positions when handles are squeezed together.
- 17 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTION S Electrica l and groundin g connecti ons must comply with the applicabl e portions of th e National Ele ctrical Code and /or other local ele ctrical codes. Disconnect the electrical power to the griddle and follow lo ckout / tagout pr ocedures.

- 19 - TROUBLESHOOTIN G PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES Heat does n ot come on when power switch is turned ON 1. Thermostat set too low. Turn to higher set ting 2. High limit cu toff swit ch is tripped – depr ess reset button . 3. If power switch is no t illuminated.
- 20 - ACCESSORIES GTS12 ELECTRIC GRIDDLE TEFLON WRAP KIT INSTALLATION The griddl e and its parts are hot . Use care whe n operating, c leaning or se rvicing the griddle. 1. Clean off platen using soft cloth, water and mild soap solution. 2. Slide the Teflon bracket (#944503) int o the sleeve of the Teflon sheet as shown in fig.
- 21 - 3. Using water, rinse the Teflon sheet and hardware thoro ughly on both sides. 4. Dry the Teflon sheet and hardware using a cle an soft cloth. 5. Before reassembling the Teflon sheet to the platen, clean the platen as d escribed in Care and Cleaning section.
