vi NOTES ON CLEANING Use a soft dry clot h for cleaning. For stubborn dirt, soak the cloth in a weak detergent s olution, wring wel l and wipe. Use a dry cloth to wipe it dry. Do not us e any type of solvent, such as thinner and benze ne, as they may damage the surfac e of the DVR.

20 IDENTIFYING INCLUDED COMPONENTS Surveillix™ IPSs come with a mouse, k eyboard and s elected software a nd cables. Iden tify the followi ng components t o make sure everything has be en properly incl uded with the new D VR. If any of the following items are missing, co ntact the dealer to arrang e a replacement.
21 KEYBOARD SETUP To attach the key board to the DVR, p lug the end of the Keyboard into th e keyboard PS/2 Port located on the back of the machin e. The keyboard PS/ 2 Port can be identifie d by the purple color. Refer to the Rear Panel Con nectors diagram for more information.
22 MONITOR SETUP The IPS may have one or both of the following c onnections avai lable for monitors which can be us ed individually or in tandem. SVGA Output* To VGA Monitor DVI-D Output To TV / Digital Monitor Attach the monitor or monitors to the rear of the DVR using th e cable supplie d by the monit or manufacturer.
23 TURNING ON THE IPS 1. Turn on the monitor and any ex ternal peripherals (ex. Printers, Exter nal Storage Devices , etc.) connected to the DVR. 2. Turn on the P ower Switch located on the front of th e DVR. 3. The IPS will run a series of self-tes ts.
