3 PREP ARA TION FOR USE PLACEMENT Place the unit on a sturdy table or shelf where it cannot get knocked over and where there is a clear line of sight to the remote handset . Make sure that there is a clearance of 10cm (4 inches) around the unit for ventila tion.

6 REMO TE CONTR OL BA TTERIES FITTING OR REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL BA T TERIES When r eplacing the batt eries in the remote control, refer to the diagram above . 1. Press the cat ch on the battery door across. 2. While holding the catch, open the batt er y door .
7 REMOVING THE P ACKING FROM THE CD PLA YER Before connecting po wer to your audio syst em, the pr otec tive packing should remov ed from the CD compartment. T o remove the pr otec tive packing: Open the CD compartment by pressing down on the • OPEN/CLOSE area marked at the front corner of the CD lid.

After a few sec onds, the r adio will tune to the last-used sta tion.

10 DAB AD V ANCED OPERA TION The DAB radio of y our audio system includes several advanced features . T o selec t the advanced features: T ouch the • MENU touchpad on the fr ont panel (or pr ess the MENU button on the on the remot e control) t o open the advanced opera tion menu.
11 LISTENING T O A CD LO ADING DISCS T o selec t CD operation: T ouch the • FUNCTION touchpad (or press the FUNC TION button on the remote c ontrol) r epeatedly until ‘CD’ is displayed. Loading a disc: Press the • OPEN/CLOSE area at the front corner of the disc lid on top of the unit.
12 PROGRAMMING TRACKS FROM A CD CD PROGRAMMING When playing a CD , you can store a random sequence of up to 64 tracks to play in y our preferred order . Program en try takes place when the disc is stopped. STORING A PROGRAM T o store a CD program: Load the disc y ou want to pla y , wait for the disc to read .
13 LISTENING T O A MP3/WMA DISC OR MP3/WMA FILES STORED ON A USB DRIVE MP3/WMA PLAYBA CK: Y our system can also play MP3 or WMA music compilations recor ded ont o a CD-ROM compilation or stor ed on a USB drive. The les may all be stored in the ‘ root’ directory of the disc/drive or organised in a set of sub -folders (usually by album).

15 PROGRAM PLA Y OF MP3/WMA FILES ST ORED ON A DISC OR USB DRIVE STORING A MP3/WMA PROGRAM Some MP3/WMA compliations will be arranged with all tracks in the ‘root’ folder of the disc/drive , others will be arranged within a set of folders (usually the music albums).
16 iP od ADAPT ORS SELECTING AN ADAPT OR Before docking your iPod you must rst check if your iPod has a docking connector . Early iPod models do not have one and cannot be docked to your unit. T he docking connector is located on the base of the iP od as shown below .
17 PLA Y ING FROM AN iPod T o play music from your iP od Press the • FUNCTION button repeatedly until ‘iPod’ is displayed . Y ou can now opera te your iPod func tions from the con trols on the front panel or r emote control. Playback functions: Press the • /, /SCAN button to toggle the iPod bet ween Play and P ause mode at any time.
18 T o play music from an iP od or P ersonal Audio play er connected to the AUX IN jack - T ouch the • FUNCTION touchpad repeatedly until ‘ AUX’ is displayed (or press the AUX button on the remote control). Set the iPod or P ersonal Audio player to pla y .
19 SET TING THE TIMER Y our syst em includes a timer tha t enables y ou t o set times for the system to switch on and swit ch o automatically . T o set the timer: Press the • TIMER button on the remote contr ol to step through each stage in timer setting, shown in the sequence below .
