3 PREP ARA TION FOR USE PLACEMENT Place the unit on a sturdy table or shelf where it cannot get knocked over and where there is a clear line of sight to the remote handset . Make sure that there is a clearance of 10cm (4 inches) around the unit for ventila tion.

7 GET TING ST ARTED REMOVING THE P ACKING FROM THE CD PLA YER Before connecting po wer to your audio syst em, the pr otec tive packing should remov ed from the CD compartment. T o remove the protective packing: Open the CD compar tment by pressing down on the • OPEN/CL OSE ar ea marked at the front corner of the CD lid.

9 iP od ADAPT ORS SELECTING AN ADAPT OR Before docking your iPod y ou must rst check if your iP od has a docking connector . Early iPod models do not have one and cannot be docked to your unit. The docking connec tor is located on the base of the iP od as shown below .

11 CARE AND CLEANING All c are and cleaning operations should be c arried out with the unit unplugged from the mains pow er . The surface of the unit can be cleaned with a barely damp cloth and then dried carefully . Never use abrasives, abrasive cloths or chemical solvents .
