FITTING BA T TERIES Referring to the previous sec tion, t 6 x ‘C’/’UM2’ ba tteries into the batt er y compar tment. Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for a long time to av oid the danger of leakage.
6 LISTENING TO F M R ADIO T o listen to FM radio: Fully extend the telesc opic aerial at the back of the unit. • Move the • FUNC TION selec tor on the lef t side to selec t the RADIO position. Move the • BAND selector on the top panel to the FM ST .
7 PLA YING A CD SELECTING CD OPERATION Move the • FUNCTION selec tor on the lef t side to select the CD/MP3/USB/SD position. The display on the fr ont panel will light.
8 MP3/WMA MUSIC FILE COMPILA TIONS This unit will also play MP3/WMA music le compila tions. These ar e normally crea ted on a computer and sa ved to a CD- ROM, a USB Flash drive or SD C ard.
9 PROGRAM PLA Y Y ou can st ore a program selection of up to 20 tracks from a CD or 99 tracks from an MP3/WMA compilation to play in your preferr ed sequence. T o set a program: Load a CD or MP3/WMA compilation and wait for it t o • read. Play will begin automatically .
10 PLA YING AND REC ORDING C ASSET TE T APES Y ou can pla y cassette tapes in the cassette player . Y ou can also recor d on cassettes from the CD or radio . Three types of cassette tapes are generally av ailable - Normal (IEC I), Chrome (IEC II) and Metal (IEC IV).
11 CARE AND CLEANING All care and cleaning operations should be carried out with the unit unplugged from the mains pow er . The surface of the unit c an be cleaned with a barely damp cloth and then dried c arefully . Never use abrasives, abrasive cloths or chemical solvents .
