51 www .gate wa y .com Replacing th e processor Replacing the proc esso r The server is compatible with Intel ® C e l eron (533 MHz FSB), Pentium 4 (800 MHz FSB), and Pentium D (800 MHz FSB) pr ocessors with 256 KB (C eleron), 1 or 2 MB (Pen tium 4), or 2×1 MB (Pentium D), L2 cache s.

If the heatsink sticks to the processor , twist it slightly to release it, t he n try again. 7 Press down on the processor locking lever , pu sh it slightly away from the processor , then rotate the lever a full 13 5° to release the processor .
53 www .gate wa y .com Replacing th e processor 11 Place the heat sink on the processor , making s ure the Thermal Interface Material (TIM) is aligne d between the heat s ink and the proces sor .

55 www .gate wa y .com Replacin g a power supply module 4 While pressing the green latch on the power supply module, g rasp the handle and pull the module straight out f rom the server . 5 Slide the new power supply mo dule into the emp ty power supply bay until the g reen latch snaps into place.

57 www .gate wa y .com Replac ing a fan 7 Insert the new fan into the opening left by the old fan, then engage the fan retention tabs and fan release tab with the chassis until it snaps into pla ce. 8 Plug the fan cab le into the fan connector on the system board.

59 www .gate wa y .com Replaci ng the CMOS batter y Replacing the CMOS battery If the server clock does not keep time or the settings in the BIOS Setup utility are not saved when you turn off the server , replace the CMOS batter y with an equivalent battery .

The Clear BIOS jumper on the system board lets you return all BIOS settings to the facto r y defaults.
