3 SCANNER SETUP Insert th e Batterie s: Unlock t he batt ery cov er by usi ng a screw dr ive r or coin to turn th e loc k under the CHS to a horiz ontal positi on. Remove t he batt ery cove r. Instal l the batterie s in their corr ect position as indic ated by t he +/ - sym bols.
4 BASIC FUNCTIONALITY Powering ON: Press a nd hold down the small power butt on until the LED t urns bl ue and t he CHS bee ps twi ce (low - high). Powering OFF / Di sconnecting: Press a nd hold down the small power butt on until the CHS beeps twic e (high - low).
5 HID vs . SPP vs. iOS MOD E The CHS support s t hree modes, based on different types of Bluetooth connections : • Hum an I nte rfac e De vic e (HI D) : Default mode of CHS. No soft ware installation re quired. • Serial Port Profi le (SPP): Hig hly r ecom me nded , allo ws two - way co mmunications with Android, Black Berry and Windows .
6 APPLE IOS HID (KEY BOARD) M ODE To pair the CHS with the Apple devic e: (required only the first time you c onnect) 1. Power on the CH S. 2. Make sure the CHS is set to H ID Keyboa rd mode (default) . If needed, sca n this barcode to set it to the correct mode .
