The EZ Conn ect TURBO Cards are IEEE 802.11b - compli ant 11/22 Mbps auto-sensin g wireless network ad apters. They m eet the needs o f small busin ess and corporate users wh o require backwar ds compatibility with a 11 Mbps wireless conn ection to an existin g LAN.
Driver Installation Option #1 (Recommended) Window s 98/Me/2000/XP NOTE: In stallation processes su ch as these usually r equire the use o f your origin al, licensed copy o f Windows . Please have your Windows CD on hand BEFORE pr oceeding with the in stallation.
Step 5: Y ou will be given the opti on to choose the locati on where the Confi guration U tility will be installed. I t is recommen ded to leave this at the d efault value . Click [Ne xt >] to continue . Step 6: Please set the selecti on to [Y es] and click [Finish] to r eboot the m achine .

English English Step 5: Once th e system has copied the SMC d rivers from the CD, it may th en request files from your ori ginal Wind ows disk. Please insert the Win dows CD at this time . Step 6: The system will copy th e files. Do NO T press [Can cel].

The wizard will sh ow "SMC2402W 22Mbps Wireless PCI A dapter" if you purchased th e PCI Card or "SMC2435W 22Mbps Wireless Car dbus Adapter" if you pur chased the Cardbus A dapter .
Step 4: Y ou will then be pr ompted to enter the locati on of the driv-ers . This should be ?:Driver . (Note: The ? equ als the letter of your CD-ROM d rive. In m ost cases, this is D.) Then cli ck [OK]. Y ou can also click Br owse] and browse to th e location of th e drivers on th e CD for fur-ther verifi cation.
Window s XP - Driver Installation Step 1: After you have inserted th e EZ Connect TURBO Wireless Card in your m achine and turn ed it back on, the OS will automati cally rec-ognize the ad apter and prompt you f or the appropri ate drivers. Cli ck the [Ne xt >] button to begin the installati on.
How Do I Kno w the Card is Installed? This section will h elp you verify that the adapter is in stalled properly . Click on th e icon for your OS to vi ew the directi ons: Note: Wind ows 98, Me , 2000 and XP are r egistered trad emarks of Micr osoft.
Window s 2000 - V erification Step 1: Righ t-click the M y Computer icon on your desktop an d click [Pr operties]. Step 2: Then g o to the Har dware tab an d click [Device Man ager]. Open the [N etwork adapters] section. Y ou should see your EZ Connect TURBO Wir eless Adapter in this m enu.
Step 3: The Devi ce Status shows that "This devi ce is working properly". If th ere are an y error messag es displayed here , you will need to ri ght-click th e SMC adapter and cli ck [Uninstall]. Th en reboot the m achine and g o through the in stallation process again.

Channel: If you are settin g up an Adhoc wir eless LAN, set the channel n umber to the same value on all wir eless clients . However , if you are conn ecting to a network vi a an AP , then the channel will be autom ati-cally set to the channel o f the AP .
