L A N setting s The LAN tab gives you the o pportuni ty to ch ange the IP settings of the WL R - 2001. Click <Ap ply> at the b ottom of this scree n to save any changes. IP address 192. 168.0 .1. It i s t he router’ s LAN IP addr ess (Y our LAN cl ients default gateway IP address) .
Lease Time Forever . In the Lease Tim e sett ing you can spec ify the time peri od that the DH CP lends an IP address to your LAN cli ents. The DHCP wil l c hange your LAN cli ent’s IP address when thi s t ime thresh ol d period is reache d.

Internet St atus This page di spl ays whether the WAN port is con nected t o a Cabl e/DSL or 3G connecti on. It also di spl ays the router’s WAN IP address, Su bnet M ask, and ISP Gateway as we ll as MAC address, the Pr imary DNS. Press Renew b utton to renew your WAN IP address.
DHCP Cl ient S t atus DHCP This page shows all DHCP cli ents (LA N PCs) currentl y conn ected t o your network. The tabl e sh ows the assi gned IP add ress, MA C addre ss an d expiration time for ea ch DHCP lea sed cl ient . Use th e Refresh button to u pdate the availabl e informatio n.
WLR-2001 Log View the o per atio n log of the WL R-2001 . Thi s page shows the current system log of th e B roadband router . It dis plays any e vent o ccurred after sy stem start up.

10 Configuration W izard Click Wizard to co nfig ure the router . The Setup w izard wil l now be displayed; check that the m odem is con nected a nd cl ick Next. Select yo ur country from t he Country l ist. Sele ct your internet provider . C lick Next.

11 Wireless Set tings Y ou ca n set pa rameters that are used for the wire les s stations to c onnect to t his router . T he par ameters inc lude Mode, ESSID, Channel Number an d Assoc iated Client. Wireles s Function Enable or Disa ble W irel ess funct ion here.
Basic Settings Mode Allow s you to set the AP to AP , Station , Bri dge or WDS mode . Band Allow s y ou to set the AP fixed at 802.1 1b or 802.11g mode. Y o u ca n also select B+G mode to allo w 8 0211 b and 8 02.1 1g cl i ents at the s ame tim e. SSID Thi s i s the name of t he w ireles s si gnal wh ich is broadcasted.
A d vanced Settings This tab al lo ws you to set the ad v anced wirel ess opti ons. The option s i ncl uded are Authenti cation T ype, Fragment Thre shold, RTS Threshold, Beacon I nterval, and Preambl e T ype. Y ou should n ot change these par ameters unle ss you k now what effect the cha nges wi ll have on the ro uter .
Beacon Interval is the inter v al of time th at this wirel ess router broadcasts a beacon. A B eacon i s use d to s ynchronize the w ir eless network. Data R ate The “Data Rate” is t he rate that th is acces s po int use s to transmit data packets.
Security This Acc ess Point provi des compl ete w irel ess LAN sec urity funct ion s, inc luded are WEP , I EEE 802.1 1x, IEEE 802. 11x wi th WEP , WPA w ith pre-shared key and WPA with RADI US. With the se sec urity f uncti ons, you can pre vent your w irel ess LAN from i lle gal a ccess.
WEP When you sel ect 64-bi t or 12 8-bit WEP key , you h av e to e nter W EP keys to encrypt data. Y ou can g enerate the key by yourself an d e nter it. Y ou can e nter four WEP keys and sel ect one of t hem as a defa ult key . Then th e router can receive any packets e ncrypted b y one of t he f our keys.
WP A Pre-shared Ke y Wi-Fi Protecte d A ccess (WPA) is an advanced sec urity sta ndard. Y ou can us e a pre-shared key to authe nticate w irel ess st ations a nd en crypt d ata during communicati on. It uses TKIP or CCMP (AES) to change the encrypti on key frequentl y .

12 Firewall Settings The Broadba nd ro uter pr ovides exten sive f irewal l protecti on b y restrict i ng connecti on parame ters, thus lim iti ng the ri sk of hacker attac ks, and defendi ng against a wid e arr ay of common Internet atta cks.
DMZ If you have a cl ie nt P C that cannot ru n a n Internet ap plicat ion (e.g. Games) properly from beh ind the NA T fire wall, t hen you can open up the f irewal l restricti ons to unrestricted tw o-w ay Internet access by defi ning a DMZ Host.
Denial of Service (DoS) The Broadband router's firewall can block common hacker attacks, incl udi ng Denial of Servi ce, Pi ng of D eath, Po rt Scan and Sync Flood.
A c cess Y ou can restrict users fr om accessin g certain Internet appl icati ons/ser vices (e.g. Internet web sites, email , FTP et c.). A ccess Control all ows users t o def ine the traffic typ e permi tted i n your LAN. Y ou can control wh ich PC cl ient can hav e access to th ese servi ces.

Port Range The range of p orts to b e forward to the private IP . Comment descri ption o f this setti ng. Add Port Forwarding Fill i n th e "Private IP", “T ype” , “Port Range” and "Comment" of t he setting to be added and then click "Add".
Virtual S erver Use the Virtual Server functi on when you want dif ferent servers/cl ients in your LAN to han dle dif ferent service/Internet appl ic ation type (e. g. Email, FTP , W eb server etc.) from the Internet. Computers use numbers call ed port numbers to recognize a parti cular s ervice/Internet applicati on ty pe.

Backup Settings The Backup screen all ows you to save (Backup) the router’s curre nt config uration settings. Wh en you save the c onfi guration setting (Backup) you can re-load the saved c onfi guration i nto the router throug h the Restore select ion.

DDNS DDNS allow s you t o map t he static domai n name to a dynami c IP ad dress. Y ou must get an ac count, password an d your static domain nam e from the DDNS service providers. This router s upports D ynDNS, TZO and other c ommon DDNS service pr oviders.
