Please read, understand and follow these instructions and precautions carefully , as this manual contains important safety and operating instructions.
• 2 • RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES. WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD-ACID BA TTERY IS 1.10 DANGEROUS. BA TTERIES GENERA TE EXPLOSIVE GASES DURING NORMAL BA TTERY OPERA TION. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORT ANCE THA T YOU FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL EACH TIME YOU USE THE CHARGER.
• 3 • Read, understand and follow all instructions for the charger , battery , vehicle and any 3.5 equipment used near the battery and charger . Study all of the battery manufacturer ’s specic precautions while charging and recommended rates of charge.
• 4 • For a positive-grounded vehicle, connect the NEGA TIVE (BLACK) clip from the battery 6.6 charger to the NEGA TIVE (NEG, N, -) ungrounded post of the battery . Connect the POSITIVE (RED) clip to the vehicle frame or engine block at a distance away from the battery .

• 6 • Battery T ype Button Use this button to set the type of battery to be charged. Standard • – Set the button to 12V ST ANDARD or 6V ST ANDARD. Deep-Cycle • – Set the button to 12V DEEP CYCLE. AGM – • Set the button to 12V AGM/GEL. GEL – • Set the button to 12V AGM/GEL.
• 7 • Completion of Charge Charge completion is indicated by the CHARGED (green) LED. When lit, the charger has switched to the Maintain Mode of operation. If the 12V DEEP CYCLE battery type was selected, the CHARGED (green) LED comes on when the battery is charged enough for normal use.

• 9 • General Charging Notes Fan: The charger is designed to control its cooling fan for efcient operation. Consequentially , it is normal for the fan to start and stop when maintaining a fully charged battery . The fan does not run in T ester Mode.
• 10 • TROU BLESH OOT ING A ND F AI LURE C ODES 1 5. F AILURE CODE DESCRIPTION CAUSE F01 Battery failed to get over 10V within 2 hours. Could be caused by either a bad battery or trying to charge a 6V battery on the 12V setting. F02 Battery could not be desulfated.
• 1 1 • PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REASON/SOLUTION CHECK BA TTERY (red) LED is on. Clips are not making a good connection to the battery . Connections are reversed. Battery is defective (will not accept a charge). Check for poor connection to battery and frame.

• 15 • Limpie los terminales de la batería antes de cargar la batería. Durante la limpieza, evite 3.3 que la corrosión producida por aire tenga contacto con sus ojos, nariz y boca. Utilice bicarbonato de sodio y agua para neutralizar el ácido de la batería y ayudar a eliminar la corrosión producida por aire.
• 16 • Determine qué borne de la batería hace 6.4 descarga a tierra (se encuentra conectado) con el chasis. Si el borne negativo hace descarga a tierra con el chasis (como en la mayor parte de los vehículos), ver el paso 6.5. Si el borne positivo hace descarga a tierra con el chasis, ver el paso 6.

• 18 • Indicadores LEDs LED VERIFICACIÓN de la BA TERÍA (rojo) encendido: Indica que el cargador no está propiamente conectado a la batería. LED VERIFICACIÓN de la BA TERÍA (rojo) intermitente : Indica que el cargador está en modo anulada. LED CARGANDO (amarillo) encendido: Indica que el cargador está cargando la batería.
• 19 • IN STRUCC ION ES DE O PER ACI ÓN 1 1. Este cargador de baterías debe ser ensamblado correctamente de acuerdo a las instrucciones de ensamble antes de usar . El cargador carece de interruptor para encendido y apagado. Los controles para encendido y apagado se controlan conectando 71225 en el tomacorriente de 120V C.
