Getting Started Using the FM and AM Antennas Before you use your audio system, you’ll want to make sure both the FM and AM antennas are positioned properly . Uncoil the FM antenna at the back of the unit, making sure it is fully extended (you may even want to tape it to the wall behind the unit if possible.

6 EN EQ - Selects equalizer presets. (MUTE) - Mutes audio output. VOL or - Decreases or Increases volume level. (PLA Y/P AUSE) - In CD / USB / memory card mode - Starts and pauses playback. (SKIP BACKWARD) - In clock and timer setting mode - Goes to the previous setting option.
Display CD / TUNER / USB / MEMCARD / AUX - indicates the current mode. - Random playback is activated in CD mode. ROCK / POP / JAZZ / CLASSIC / CUSTOM - Current equalizer setting. INTRO - In CD mode, intro is activated so the first 10 seconds of each track will be played.
8 EN Settings Setting the Timer Y ou can turn on/off the unit or record TUNER at preset times by setting the timer . 1. Press and hold TIMER on the remote control until T imer On and the clock hour flashes on the display . 2. For setting time, press or to set the hour and then press TIMER to shift to minute digits.
Settings Sleep Mode Y ou can select the time interval in minutes before the unit turns off automatically . Press SLEEP to select among OFF , 120, 90, 60, 45, 30, 15 and 5 minutes. The SLEEP icon lights on the display when sleep mode is activated. V iew Remaining Sleep Time When sleep is activated, press SLEEP once to view remaining sleep time.
10 EN CD and mp3 Disc Playback Important CD and mp3/WMA Information This unit is compatible with CD-RW/ CD-R discs for playback. CD-R / RW Notes on CD-R/RW Disc: • Do not affix any type of labels to either side (recordable or labeled side) of a CD-R/RW disc as this may result in the unit malfunctioning.
Loading Discs 1. Press SOURCE repeatedly to select CD mode. 2. Press OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc compartment. 3. Insert up to 5 discs with label face up. 4. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the disc compartment. The occupied disc tray icons lights on the display and the current disc icon flashes on the display .
12 EN CD and mp3 Disc Playback Selecting a Disc Press DISC 1 , DISC 2 , DISC 3 , DISC 4 or DISC 5 on the main unit or DISC SKIP on the remote control to skip discs. Searching Thr ough a CD • Press or to skip to the previous or next track. • Press and hold or to search through a CD while it is playing.
USB and Memory Car d Playback Selecting USB or Memory Card Mode Press SOURCE repeatedly to select USB or Memory Card mode. USB / Memory Card Playback Features Start and Pause Playback Press to start and pause playback. Stop Playback Press TUNE MODE to stop playback operations.

16 EN Operation in the Three Operation Modes All mode Y ou can select from all available channels under this mode. Press or to select the previous or next channels. Category mode • T o change category , press SELECT/BACK (CA T +/CA T -) on the main unit or or on the remote.
Recor ding to the mp3 Player Y ou can record CD, T uner or AUX files to the mp3 player . Recording CD to mp3 Player Normal/High Speed Recording 1. Connect the mp3 player to the USB port, “USB Connected” will show on the display . 2. In CD stop mode, CD navigation mode or CD pause mode, press RECORD .
18 EN Recording T uner/AUX to mp3 Player 1. In T uner or AUX mode, press RECORD to start recording. In T uner mode Recording Example: 1. In T uner mode, select the station to record (refer to page 14-16 for details). 2. Press RECORD to start recording.
19 EN In CD / USB / mp3 mode, advanced playback controls allow you to sample, repeat and radom playback files, set up a Program List. In USB mode, allow you to rename tracks. Sampling T racks Press INTRO on the remote control to play the first 10 seconds of each track on the current disc, all discs in the tray , or turn intro mode off.
20 EN Playing a Program List While in PROGRAM stop mode , press . If you are not currently in program mode, press PROG to enter program mode. Program playback begins automatically . Display Program List 1. While the CD player is stopped, press PROG to enter PROGRAM mode.
