page 4 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS The EFX556 must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, ground- ing provides a path of least resistance f or electric current which reduces the risk of electr ical shoc k. The EFX556 is equipped with a pow er cord ha ving an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug.

page 11 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Y ou do not need an y special knowledge or e xperience to set up the EFX. How e v er , you will need assistance. Because of the size and weight of the EFX, it is recommended that at least three adult persons assemble it.

Align the mounting holes and inser t the s cr ews through the upper and lower bra cket . U se the he x k ey provided to alternately tighten each s cr ews until all four scr ews are secure .

page 18 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION SETTING A WORKOUT TIME LIMIT Y ou can limit how long a user w orks out by setting a dur ation between 1 and 240 minutes. The EFX also lets y ou choose “no limit” which allows the user to select a course and work out indefinitely .
page 19 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Press Enter once again and the Error Log appears. Press the ▼ or ▲ key to view the error messages. T o return to the Precor banner, press Enter or Reset . Note : T o c lear (delete) the error log, press Quick Start for at least 4 seconds while viewing the list.

Remind users that they only need to “lightly touch” these ultra- sensitive keys.

page 26 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION Once the EFX is assembled and turned ON, it is ready to use. The easy-to-under- stand prompts let you select a course and specify how long you want to work out. Begin working out and then, adapt the resistance lev el to meet y our fitness goals.

page 32 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION CROSS TRAINING COURSE The Cross T raining course is similar to the Interval Course , but instead of rest/ work inter vals the course consists of alternating segments of forw ard and backw ard pedaling mo vements that f ocus on wor king the thigh and calf muscle groups.
page 33 COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS DIVISION 3. Enter a workout Time . If the workout Time entered is an e v en number , then all intervals (rest and work) are 2 minutes long. If the workout Time entered is an odd number , then all inter vals (rest and w or k) are 2 minutes long, except the last one which will be 1 min ute.
