This u t ility is f ully com p atible w ith the indus t ry-s t anda r d Simple Net w ork M anagemen t Protocol (SN M P).

- 1 1 - 3.3.1 Kick S t art It is r ecommended to use Kick S t art func t ion w hen initial setting up a W A P-5000. Open S t art menu and select Kick S t art , or click on t he icon from the main WMS w indo w , then t he Kick S t art w indo w appears as belo w .
- 12 - 3.3. 1 .1 Find This function hel p s you t o quickly locate all compa t ible devices ( include A P and B r idge). Open the S t art menu and select Find , or click on t he icon , o r press F5 . Fe w seconds late r , the MA C addresses of all compatible devices w ill be listed belo w .
- 13 - MAC address of the device and click OK to make the connection. 3.3. 1 .4 D elete If you w ant to r emove a specific device f r om the list , select i t s M AC address, open the E dit menu and select Delete , or click on t he icon . The device w ill disappear f r om t he lis t immedia t el y .
- 14 - 3.3. 1 .8 Chan g e Pass w ord This function allo w s you to change the administrative pass w ord of the device . Highlight the M AC address of a device from the list , open the T oo ls menu and selec t Change Password , o r click on the icon , a dialog bo x w ill pop up .

Open t he Host menu and select A uto Discove ry , or click on t he icon , o r press F5 . Fe w seconds late r , all com p atible devices w ill be listed belo w w ith their info r mation.

- 17 - 3.3. 2 .3 Config This function allo w s you to configure t he pa r amete r s of W A P - 5000. Open the Host menu and selec t Config , or click on the icon , a con f igu r ation w indo w w ill pop up. IP W A P-5000 is a DHC P clien t by default.

- 19 - W hen you select SNM P A ccess Control , the system will display four blank fields f or set t ing (ma x imum of 4 SN MP devices can be set). Right - click on a blank in the list and click Edit Address . The Ne w /Edi t A ddress dialog bo x w ill appea r .

- 21 - • Name : A ssigns the W A P-5000 a unique name t hat allo w s the AP to be easily iden t ified on t he net w ork. • SSID : The SSID is t he name shared among all points in t he w ireless net w ork. Y ou can type an e x isting domain name or crea t e a ne w one tha t contains up t o 32 cha r acters.
- 22 - There are four selec t able options in Method pull-do w n menu : • WEP : Disable, A uthenticat i on: Open – Disable data encryption • WEP : Enable, A uthenticat i on : Open – Enable dat.

Click the icon and assign a s t ation as a t r ap server by en t e r ing i t s IP address . T o remove a trap server from the list, highlight it and click the icon .
- 24 - IEEE 8 02 . 1X The IEEE 802.1X w indo w allo w s you to set up 802 . 1 x authentication on a W A P - 5000. Check Enab l e 802.1 X A ccess Control bo x w ill activa t e the t hree subca t egories o f IEEE 802 . 1 x related controls : A uthentication Options , A ccounting Options , and R A DIUS Settings .
- 25 - • Supplicant Timeout – This control se t s the ma x imum time t hat the A P w ill w ait for an authentication r esponse f r om a client. Once t his limit has been reached , the AP w ill check ho w many times i t has tried.
- 26 - • Retries – This is the number of times t he AP w ill attempt t o r esend accounting info r ma t ion t o the server before r eturning an er r or. • Enable I nterim Update – If t his control is checked , the AP w ill pe r iodically resend any accounting info r mation t o the server.
- 27 - • Server IP – This is the RADIUS server ’ s IP address . This must be se t in order for t he AP t o communicate w ith the server . • A uthentication Port, A ccounting Port – These a r e the por t numbers tha t the server is using to lis t en f or incoming accounting and authenticating packe t s.
- 28 - A configura t ion f ile can also be impor t ed to recover the W A P - 5000 ’ s o r iginal settings . This profile can also be copied t o the othe r W A P-5000 . T o do this , fi r st click the Import bu t ton in the Config w indo w . Then enter the f ile name f or the configuration p r ofile to be imported from.
- 29 - The configuration pro f ile does not con t ain the security key settings . The attributes of security keys are e x ternally w rite-only and cannot be saved into the con f igura t ion file.
