7 Important Saf ety Instructions Please read these instructions carefully: Unplug the Powe rLine HD E thernet Ad apter from the wall o utlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cle aners or aerosol cleaners. Use a dam p cloth for cleaning. Do not use the Powe rLine HD Ethernet Adapter near w ater.

13 5. Hardware Installation Refer to the followi ng diagrams and dir ection to install the clip wit h NetPower 302 AV . Please DO N OT remove or disassem ble the socie clip frequently as this may cause serio us damage to your Ne tPower 302AV.
14 1. Plug the Po werline HD E thernet Adapter into an AC outlet (Do not plug device into a powe r strip or surge prote ctor). 2. Plug one end of an ETHERNET cable into t he Powerline H D Ethernet Adapter and plug the o ther end to a PC or device.
15 6. SYNC Button Sync Button is used to add a HomePlug device to a Po werline network or enable it to join a network by pressing the S ync Button o f the device to t urn it into Broadcast state or Join state. There are 3 types o f Sync Button trigge r states: 1.
16 Scenario 2: A NetPower 302AV device wants to joi n an existing network group BC . Device A wants to join a network group “BC” curre ntly cons istin g o f device B and device C. Any device s within the “BC” group can become the “Broadca st State” and device A will be the “ Join State”.
17 7. Utility Insert the Resource CD that comes wit h NetPower 302A V into the C D-ROM drive. Click the Utility b utton, and then click Run. In the R un dialog box , type D:A02-PL302Kit UtilityNet Pow er 302 AV UtilitySetup.exe (where D: is yo ur CD-ROM drive), and then click O K.
18 7.1 Opening Net Power 3 02 AV Uti lity Two ways to open HomePlug AV Ut ility: Right-click the Net Power 302 AV Util ity desktop sho rtcut and t hen selec t Open. Click t he Star t butto n, click Programs, click N et Pow er 302 AV Utility and then click Net Power 302 AV Util ity.
19 Main The Main T ab screen lists all the po werline devices that are connected to the hos t computer when the utility is running. The to p left window panel shows a ll the local HomePlug devices that are connected to the comp uter’s NI C (Network Inter face Card).
20 connect button will indicate with a message " NO HOMEPLUG AD APTERS DETECTE D ". The bo ttom window panel displays all the HomePlug remote devices t hat are detected on the curre nt network. The total nu mber of remote devices connected on the same network can be found on top of the Rem ote de vice panel.
21 Password Setup I nstructions: This feature grants users the access le vel to change the Priv ate Network N ame of both the local & the remote HomePlug devices.
22 Privacy TAB Privacy Tab allows user the conve nience to manage the security o f the private powerline netwo rk. In addition, user can also uitlize this feature to add a new HomePlug device to the private netwo rk instead o f m anually adding the devi ce using its Sync button.
