6 Figure 1. T ypical application The 1058D V/CO and 1058D V/CP work together to create a transparent e xtension between two peered Ethernet LANs. PO TS/ISDN calls can be made ov er the VDSL link without interfering with the data. Figure 1 shows a typical point-to-point application.
7 3.0 INSTALLATION Because the Model 1058 requires no configuration, it can be installed and made operational quic kly . Installation tak es place as f ollows: 1. Connecting the line interf ace between the units (ref er to section 3.1, “Connecting the T wisted-P air Line Interface” on page 7) Note See Figure 2 for the rear panel arr angements.
8 F ollow the steps belo w to connect the Model 1058 VDSL Interfaces. Note The Model 1058 units work in pairs. One of the units must be a Model 1058/CO (Central Of fi ce), and the other unit must be a Model 1058/CP (Customer Premise). It does not matter which end is the 1058/CO and which is the 1058/CP .

This connec- tion is made via the barrel jack on the rear panel of the Model 1058.
