1 This manual contains supplementary instructions regarding the use of the computer . It ex- plains the cases where the operation of the computer differs from that in the Operating In- structions. Y our computer is equipped with the EDGE modem enabling you to communicate using radio frequencies.
2 The following safety precautions must be observed during all phases of the operation, usage, service or repair of any Personal Computer or Handheld Computer incorporating EDGE modem.
3 Do not place the computer with EDGE modem in an area over an air bag or in the vicinity where an air bag may deploy . Air bags inflate with great force and if the computer with EDGE modem is placed in the air bag deployment area may be propelled with great force and cause serious injury to occupants of the vehicle .

9 LED Description EDGE Modem Switch The EDGE modem can power up independently from the computer regardless of the computer power status and will remain on when the computer ’ s power is off. This function depends on the setting of the Setup Utility .
10 1 Power off your computer and EDGE modem. 2 Installing a SIM card Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot with the contact side facing downward and with the cut corner in front. Close the cover . If the cover is not closed, the SIM card may jump out when the computer falls.
11 Removing a SIM card Push the card. It will come out of the slot a little bit. Pull the card all the way out. <CF-18 Series> <CF-29 Series>.
