7 i2002 Internet Te lephone i2002 Internet T elephone This document describes i2002 features a nd ho w to use the i2002 Intern et T elephone. The i2002 Internet T elephone brin gs voice and data to the desktop by connecting directly to a LAN through an Ethernet connection.
8 Your i2002 Internet Te lephone’s controls Y our i2002 Internet T elephone’ s controls Use the Vo l u m e C o n t r o l to ad just the volume of the Handset, Headset, Speaker , Ringer , and Handsfree features. Press the right side of the rocker bar to increase volume, the left side to decrease volum e.
9 Your i2002 Internet Telephone’s controls Press the Hold key to put an active call on hold. Press the Line (DN) key beside th e flashing to return to t he caller on hold . Press the Speaker key to activate handsfree. The speaker LED lights to indicate when handsfree is active.

12 Install your i2002 Internet Telephone Install your i2002 Internet T elephone Connect the i2002 telephone components 1. Connect one end of the handset cord to the handset jack (identified with a handset i con) on the back of the telepho ne and the other end to the jack on the handset.

After selecting Display Diagnostics from the T elephone Option menu: 1. Using the Navigation keys, scroll through the list to view disp lay capabilities.
20 Your i2002 Telephone O ption menu Choose Ring type The Ring type option sets the telephone’ s ring tone. After sel ecting Ring T ype... from the T elephone Option m enu: 1. Using the Navigatio n keys, highlight one of the ring types. 2. Press the Play key to sample the ring tone.
21 Your i2002 Telephone Option menu Change Feature Key Label The Change Feature Key Label option rena mes the label displayed next to each feature key or restores the defaul t labels to the keys. 23 Call features Call features System administration is required for Call features. Contact your system administrator to configure these fe atures and codes on your telephone. The Call features and Flexible Feature Codes (FFC) described in the following sections must be assigned to your tele phone and supported by system software.
24 Make a call Make a call This section describes featur es associated with making a call. There are several ways to make a call from an i2002 telephone. T o make a call: 1. Do one of the following: a. Press the Line (DN) key . b. Lift the Handset . c.
25 Make a call Use Handsfree calling Use Handsfree calling to operate a built-in microp hone and speaker instead of the handset. While on an active call, you can s witch between Handset and Handsfree mode. T o answer a call in Handsfree mode: Press the Handsfree key .
26 Make a call T o use a Headset: 1. Connect the Headset to the headset jack or the handset jack depending on the headset type and telephone. 2. Press the Headset key . Note: Amplified and u namplified headsets are compatible with the i2002 Internet T elephone.
27 Make a call T o search for a specific num ber: 1. When prompted, use the keypad to enter the desired name in the format, “Last, First”. 2. T o edit the entry , select from the following: a. T o toggle letters, use the 1-9 number keys. b. For upper case letters, use the second level of feature keys and press the Case key .
28 Make a call T o scroll to a specific number: 1. Using the Navigatio n keys, scroll through the names in the Corporate Directory . 2. Press the Dial key to dial the resulting number . Use Predial Use the Predial feature to enter , preview , an d edit num bers before dialing.
29 Make a call Use Auto Dial Use the Auto Dial feature to display , stor e, and automatically dial telepho ne numbers. To u s e A u t o D i a l : 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Selecting an associated Auto Dial key from the upper display area, press to di al the number .
30 Make a call Activate Ring Again Use the Ring Again feature if a busy tone sounds or when ther e is no answer after placing a call. Ring Again activates an audible tone noti fication that you receive when the person you t ried calling is available or has used their telepho ne.
31 Make a call Redial last number called Use the Last Number Redial feature to automatically redi al the last dialed number . T o use Last Number Redial: Choose one of the foll owing 1. T o redial using the Handset : a. Lift the Handset . b. Press the Line (DN) key .
32 Make a call T o make a Speed Call: 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Press the Speed Call Controller key . 3. Dial the Speed Call code to automatically dial the nu mber . Make a System Speed Call Use the System Speed Call feature to di al Speed Call codes that override all restrictions on a call.
33 Make a call Make an Intercom call Use the Intercom feature to call a member of your intercom group by pressing the code assigned to each member . To m a k e a n I n t e r c o m c a l l : 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Press the Intercom key . 3. Dial the one- or two -digit code for the desired intercom group member .
34 Answer a ca ll Answer a call Each incoming call causes the telephone to ring and the LCD indicato r t o flash. T o answer a call: or 1. Choose one of th e following: a. Lift the Handset . or b. Press the Handfree button located on the left side of the handset.
35 While on an active call While on an active call This section describes features available during an active call. Place a call on hold Use the Hold feature when talking on one line and another call arrives on a second line. Retain the original call by putting it on hold and then answer the second call.
36 While on an active call T o go back to the original call, if the transfer is incomplete: If the person called is not available, press the Line (DN) key (next to the LCD indicator) to reconnect to the original call. Use Timed Reminder Recall Use the T imed Reminder Recall feature to receive a reminder tone when a transferred call is not answered.
37 While on an active call Use Attendant Recall Use the Attendant Recall feature to contact an attendan t during a call and t o connect the call to the attendant. T o contact the attendant while on a call: 1. Press the Attendant Recall key and stay on the line until the attendant answers.
38 While on an active call T o park a call using the SPRE code or FFC: or 1. Press the Tr a n s f e r key or the Conference key . 2. Dial the Call Park FFC . 3. T o use an alternate DN from the System Park DN or your own DN, dial the DN where you want to park the call.
39 While on an active call Record a Calling Par ty Number Use the Calling Party Number f eature to re cord a caller ’ s number or charge a call to an account number for accounting purp oses during an established call. T o record a caller’ s number for accounting purpos es: 1.
40 While on an active call T race a Malicious call Use the Malicious Call T race feature to tr ace nuisance calls within your system. T o use Call T race while on a call: Press the Call T race key . T o use Call T race without a Call T r ace key: or 1.
41 Incoming calls Incoming calls This section describes features th at are used with incoming calls. Activate Automatic Answerback When the Automatic Answerback feature is active, your se t automatically answers in handsfree mode after one ring; however , calls are not forw arded to the voice message service.
42 Incoming c alls 3. Dial the pickup group number of th e ringing telephone. T o answer a call at a specific extension in any pickup group: 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Press the DN Pickup key , or enter the Pickup Directory Number FFC. 3. Dial the DN of t he telephone that is ringing (in your call pickup group).
43 Incoming calls 2. Press the Line (DN) key associated with the first call. If you do not have a Call W aiting key: 1. Press the Goodbye key to end the current call and answ er the incoming call. 2. Press the Line (DN) key beside the flashing status icon to answer the incoming call.
44 While you are away from your desk While you are away from your desk This section describes features that ar e used when you are away from your desk. Use Call For ward Use the Call Forward featur e to direct incoming ca lls to ring at anoth er Line (DN).
45 While you are away from your desk Use Internal Call For ward Use the Internal Call Forward to accept only calls originating at in ternal DNs to ring at another DN. Calls originating outside your teleph one system still ring at your telephone. Current incoming calls cannot be fo rwarded.
46 While you are away from your desk 4. Dial your Station Control Password. A dial tone sounds. 5. Choose one of th e following: a. Dial your DN. b. T o forward calls to the previous call forward telephone number, press the # key . (Do not perform steps 6 and 7).
47 While you are away from your desk Secure your telephone Use the Electronic Lock feature to prevent others from making calls from your telephone. The lock consists of a password that you can change. T o lock your telephone: 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Dial the Electronic Lock Activate FFC .
48 While you are away from your desk T o change your password (must be done from your telephone): 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Dial the Station Control Password Change FFC . 3. Dial the current password for your telephone. 4. Dial the new password. 5. Dial the new password again.
49 Talk with more than one person T alk with more than one person This section describes featur es that enable conversatio ns between more than two people. Use the Call Join feature Use the Call Join feature to connect a call to a current active call.
50 Talk with m ore than one p erson If the person you attempt to add to the conference is unavailable: 1. Press the Goodbye key . 2. Press the Line (DN) key w ith the flashing icon to return to you r original call .
51 Talk with more than one person The LCD indicator t urns off. b. For multiple conferees, repeat steps 1 and 2 until all conferees are disconnected. Then press the Goodbye key . Use Group Call Use the Group Call feature to automatically call memb ers of a predefined group, one at a time, until they all answer .
52 Talk with m ore than one p erson b. If you are on a call on another line on your telephone when a group call is made, you receive a long tone through th e handset or speaker . c. If you are alrea dy on a conference call or another group call, you do not receive notifi cation of a group call.
53 Work without interruptio n W ork without interr uption This section describes features th at provide uninterrupted work time. Activate Make Set Busy Use the Make Set Busy feature to make yo ur telephone appear busy to all callers.
54 Additional call featu res Additional call features Auto Dial T ransfer feature Use the Auto Dial Tr ansfer feature to transm it digits through your Aut o Dial key to the central office after a T r unk Switchhook Flash. Y ou must be on a Central Office/Exchange (CO) trunk cal l from or to a CO that of fers Centrex or exchange line-type features.
55 Additional call features Use Call Page Connect to make an announcement Use the Call Page Connect feature to make an announcem ent over a paging system. Note: A Page key on an attendant console overrid es and disconnects the telephones. The telephones must re-access the page trunk.
56 Additional call featu res Charge a call or Charge a Forced call Use the Call Charge feature to charge a call to a specific account. The Forced Charge feature charges long-distance calls from a telephone restricted to local calls. T o charge a local or long-distance call to an account before you dial: 1.
57 Additional call features T o charge a call to an account when you transfer a call: 1. Press the T ransfer key . The call is on hold. 2. Press the Charge key or dial the Call Detail Recording FFC . 3. Dial the charge account number . 4. After the dial tone, dial the num ber to where the call is to be transferred.
58 Additional call featu res Use Enhanced Override feature Use the Enhanced Override feature to override an active call after you have attempted a Forced Camp-on. Use Enhanced Override to make a simple call or a consultation call, such as placing a call on hold and calling another party .
59 Additional call features Note: The person you called receives a tone, and you receive a ring/ringback signal or a busy/engaged signal, depending on the option s chosen. Y ou are now camped-on t o the number you dialed. 2. When the person y ou called finishes their call, your telephone automaticall y dials the number.
60 Additional call featu res Use Privacy Release Use the Privacy Release feature to enable one or more people who share your DN to join a call. T o use Privacy Goodbye in an established state: Press the Privacy Release key during a call.
61 Additional call features T o use Automatic Post selection: The called party is either busy on the telephone or away from the desk. T o page the called party , there is no need to redial the number of the called party . 1. Press the Radio Page key .
62 Additional call featu res Use V oice Call Use the V o ice Call feature to page an other person o r make an announ cement through someone else’ s telephone speaker . T o make a voice call: 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Press the V oice Call key and make the announcement.
63 Additional fea tures Additional features Vir tual Of fice When you are away from y our office telephone, use the V irtual Office feature to transfer calls and all of it’ s features to a remote telephone.

65 Additional fea tures When activated for V irtual Office by a remote telephone, your office telephone is logged out and no longer operational . A Logged Out message displays on your telephone alerting you that it is being used for V irtual Office.

71 Hospitali ty features T o verify the time for the Automatic W ake-Up call: 1. Lift the Handset . 2. Dial the Automatic Wake-Up Verify FFC . 3. Dial the Automatic Wa ke-Up time in a 24-hour time format (hh mm). If your query matches the preset time, a confirmation tone sounds.
